Avantone : Pro Planar
Yep and the MM500 would certainly look like a good upgrade (or sidegrade?) from the Avantone...- mobbaddict

PLANAR IEMs fans thread-Impressions, suggestions, ranking list, techs
Regarding timbre foam tips can work wonders with planar IEMs. I've been using Comply and Dekoni tips these past few days with my OG Timeless - these never sounded as good as with the Dekonis. I hear similar timbre quality as a good fullsize planar with good leather pads.- mobbaddict

Stax SR-X1 (new entry model)
How does it stack up against planars? Does it have the typical ethereal electrostat sound?- mobbaddict

Best IEM tips?
Comparing apples to oranges but the Dekoni Bulletz TWS sound really nice coming from the regular Comply T400. I liked the laid-back sound of the Comply by I must say the Dekoni sound more neutral on my OG Timeless. Less muffled top end and cleaner bass. At this point I think I'm not coming back...- mobbaddict

Best IEM tips?
I thought the nozzle width was the only difference with all the Comply models - eg T500 being wider than T400. Am I wrong? It's a shame they provide so little information on their website.- mobbaddict

PLANAR IEMs fans thread-Impressions, suggestions, ranking list, techs
Tuning options look very interesting on this one, especially the Atmos filter which is more laid-back than other typical planar IEMs https://primeaudio.org/trn-azure-dragon-review/- mobbaddict

The Closed-Back Headphone Thread (Plus Comparisons & Reviews)
You can find some good studio closed-backs with a flat bass. The HD620 doesn't seem to go that road based on the measurements. A Sony CD900ST or used Audeze Sine could work for instance. There are probably other valid options I haven't tested (maybe Beyer DT250, Nad HP50 or Rode NTH100).- mobbaddict

Best IEM tips?
One word on the Azla Origins. I like them, they sound very similar to the Crystals and Spinfit W1. Tuning-wise I would say they fit in between those two, not as laid-back as the Crystals but smoother than the W1 for sure. The Crystals are still my favorite of the bunch. Still I think nothing...- mobbaddict

Best IEM tips?
I received a couple of tips for my OG Timeless, including the new Azla Origins. Testing the Comply T400 large tips right now with the Timeless (first time I'm testing foam with these), very interesting result in terms of soundstage. I find that they don't try too hard to sound open like thin...- mobbaddict

QUAD ERA-1 Thread
The Quad with some third party Focal pads is really something special too. The Focal pads are flat too but get them with perforated leather and the midrange and timbre become stellar compared to the stock hybrid pads. None of the cavernous sound of the stock leather pads either.- mobbaddict

Audeze SINE Series
Interesting. I don't have a balanced amp but my observation with planars (at least easy to drive ones) is that more power does bring more control and speed but not necessarily more body or punch. My planars (that includes the Sine and the Quad Era-1 for instance) sound more ethereal out of the...- mobbaddict

PLANAR IEMs fans thread-Impressions, suggestions, ranking list, techs
Did a bit of measurement research and find it interesting how close the Timeless are to the F1 with gold filters (just slightly more v-shaped): Out of all planar IEMs on the market these two seem to be the closest to the Etymotic curve above 1khz (minus the 8khz peak): Take 6db off the...- mobbaddict
