Price to performance right now with the HEKSE compared to Susvara is crazy.

Even if there is no price drop for the Susvara when the new flagship is released I'm sure that Susvara on the used market will be the lowest it's ever been because all those Susvara owners are going to want the new flagship and flood the market creating competition to sell their pairs so this may be a field day in getting a Susvara close to £2,000
I don’t know about that I have Susvara and still held on to my HEKSE.

When I was considering buying them in 2020 I checked retailers constantly and kept finding the "open box" discounts - always a single item, and not repeated by the same dealer for months. The EU is quite large, why not search the dealers?
I might do that in the future, my HE1000se should arrive next week, I'm really looking forward to it.

The European Union uses 24 official languages and has still 8 different currencies. It's not the United States of America.

Currencies in the EU beside the Euro: Bulgarian lev, Czech koruna, Danish krone, Hungarian forint, Polish złoty, Romanian leu, Swedish krona.

Absolutely right, I live in Austria, close to the border the Germany. That's why I primarily only monitor these two markets for prices.

For the suspected price of 7-8k for the new flagship I bet a lot of Susvara owners will have to sell their pair to help fund for that new headphone. It's not like it's only 2-3k like the HEKSE which is a more reasonable price.

The use market will be full of Susvara's.

Technically speaking, I am not a HE1000se owner yet (I had one three and a half years ago)

I assume that these currencies are readily exchanged, and that Google has a translator built in to enable searches in ones native language.

HFM has made 4 different HEK's in what 8 years....

IF as we both think the Susvara will find its way to $3200 +/- $200

and the HEK SE will be $1700, that's a mighty large price gap where they don't have a planar to fight competitors.

There have been 4 versions of the 560, 4 of the HE-6, 4 or is it 5 Arya, 3 or 4 Ananda, 3 Sundara, 3 HEX/XS (4 if you count MD), at least 4 400's - more if you count the 4XX. All with lots of price drops over time. HE-6 SE $1800 -> $399 for instance. Of anything over $500 only the 500 and Susvara (2.5 and 3.5 plugs) come to mind as models that do not have multiple versions (560 is not related to the 500). HFM also has done silent mods as well.

Given how popular and profitable the HEK Series has been, why would they not continue with an update of some sort? It's got to be close to two years since the last HEK came out.

Fixation? No observation, memory, and the common sense of someone who has followed HFM very closely since 2016. The only variable based on HFM's past is when, not if.,
I appreciate all that you've said, but how can they release a new HEK which surpasses SE but which doesn't cannibalise sales of Susvara? I don't see how it's possible.

It's a good question, they might just keep the Susvaras at $3500 and that's a big gap to $1699 or even $2k. The split between the Sus and the HEK SE wasn't all that wide until they started selling SE's at $2k, now that's a gap, and at a price point (2-3k) that gets some good business - unlike the $3-6k range where things slow down a bit.

We will see!
