They really are the best. I think I'm at the stage in my audiophile journey, where if it can't beat the TCs or Sus, I don't care. I don't need to keep going on these side paths, listening to headphones with compromises in comparison to the TC/Sus. I've had limited time to listen to music recently, so I don't want any compromises. That's when you pick the TCs over everything else. Then the Sus if you want a change. Everything else is a compromise (though the CA-1a is close to being in that tier with the VM-1a).

I spent alot of money buying other headphones and borrowing alot, ive heard nearly all the best headphones in my own setup and 1266 and sus remain, I always go back to them cause as u said every other headphone is too much of a compromise. Hopefully new hifiman and immanis changes that.
