I never thought this time would come but my beloved Hex dac is up for sale.
Note: this offer does NOT include a usb cable as I never received one but I shall put a standard one in the box (ie non audiophile)

Only looking to sell this now that I have upgraded to the Holo May KTE dac that sells for over 4x what I am asking for this.

This is traditional NOS sound - I fell in love with this dac for its “Analogue” sound and great separation. NATURAL sounding.

The Hex was engineered by Cees Ruijtenberg who is also the name behind Sonnet Digital Audio (eg the Morpheus and Pasithea dac).

The Hex was the dac just below the top of the line Metrum Pavane and was very highly rated in John Darko’s Dac Index

I have used this dac with a number of amps and has worked very well with all of them - including Auralic Taurus mkii, Violectric v280, Woo Audio wa2, Niimbus us4.

This unit also includes the (later) upgrade of the usb module (Amanero Combo 384) and the Lundahl LL1588 transformers (servicing and improving the RCA outputs) that you might read about.

The standard unit used to retail for $3500 USD, so about $5000 AUD.
I believe the Lundahl Transformer updates (see below) would cost an extra couple of hundred dollars.

Very good condition but a few light marks on the top from generally usage (eg from having an amp sitting on top at times)
