Anyone have issues where changing the volume knob produces really loud static in the left driver/speaker? It only happens while changing the volume, but it has me worried.

I'm planning on purchasing the Lyr 2 and two Amperex 7308 gold pins to go with the to-be-released HE-400i, but is a Modi a suitable DAC, or is it worth the extra $250 / $320 (with uber analog) to get the Bifrost? Seems like a huge jump in price for something that just happens to be the same size...

Has anyone compared these to the HE400? That's what I currently have, and I was thinking about upgrading to the HE400i/560, but these caught my eye.   I'm mostly looking for comfort, soundstage, and subbass (love the HE400), and price isn't an issue.
