Yeah, I mean as a headphone amp exclusively (or a tube preamp) I have never really had too much use for adjustable gain. Unless the gain function allows you to lower the gain. The little beast drives headphones ridiculously loud, and I have never topped out the volume pot since owning it. =]

Just placed my order for a Rag! Very excited. At this moment I only have stock LCD-2's, stock q701s, and a pair of Polk audio RTI A3 speakers.   I was wondering how nicely the Rag plays while running headphones SE.    If I wanted to hook up my q701s and LCD-2s using the 4-pin XLR connection...

So then should I save for the WA22? Because I would really prefer something that can cater to all my cans.

I am thinking about getting a WA2 to go with my PS Audio PWD mkII, LCD-2's, and future HD800s that I plan to get. Does anyone have experience with HD800 and this amp? I was gonna get WA22 but it is so expensive...to save or not.    I already have a pair of tele E88CCs that I bought for my Lyr...

When is the date been set to? I have a PWD Mk II, a Lyr (Tele E88CC; Mullard Tooled Matsush ita E88CC; the stock JJs; 6CG7 RCA Cleartop), AKG q701s, and LCD-2.2s. I would love to make it, still trying to figure out if I am going to be back in NC at that time.
