so i was wrong about the eq on this thing. i was just used to eqs for idiots. the eq is fine but no where near as good as my rockbox on my sony. id recommend rockbox over anything else that ive heard of, and im not familiar with smartphone apps. the battery could last longer.

i am not an expert. not recommended anymore as ive seen too many amazon reviews saying the plastic will break. so i bought these as bass headphones. i woulda got the xb950s but they have durability issues. ditto for the skullcandy crushers and im not sure if the bass is consistent on those either. these seem to be more reliable than the v moda m100, and they were on sale for $130. these are only bass headphones if you bass boost them. i usually listen to them with a 6db bass boost from my amp, plus the bass turned up all the way on my mp3...
