Aikido 24 Volt PING: Coreyk78
Hey I just saw this thread. The sinks do get a bit warm, I used some I think 2" tall heat sinks, its been a while since I put mine together. Its been used daily for close to 2 years now without any issues so they must be big enough. Good luck with the project, digger945 helped me out a lot with...- Coreyk78

Looking good so far, I think you'll like the amp. I have a 24v Aikido with 6GM8 tubes that I use as the preamp for my speaker amps and its also my favorite headphone amp for my dynamic cans.- Coreyk78

eXStata DIY Electrostatic Amp for Intermediate DIYers
I wanted to post a brief update, I finally got around to finishing up my Buffalo 24 DAC and have had a couple days to play with it. To my ears it was a substantial improvement over my modded Zero DAC and my Exstata/404 combo sound even better. I can't say enough how awesome this setup really...- Coreyk78

CTH + senn hd580/600/650
I've used my HD580 with my CTH quite a bit, It can drive them easily. As others have already said, the tube you use is the main source of any sound signature. I've been enjoying a Sears branded 6CG7 and a Realistic 12BH7 lately.- Coreyk78

Pete Millett's Menace
The MenaceTC Lite seems like a really cool project, great work Nate! Are you planning to share the schematic? I think I already have a lot of the parts needed, I have a C-14X choke sitting in a box and an Antek 1T150 power transformer from an aborted project. I also have some NOS 6AS7 and 6SN7...- Coreyk78

Runeight, that makes perfect sense to me, I didn't use the correct terms in my post. I should have said I notice a difference in output level with the Aleph when using SE inputs and having -IN grounded or not. I don't notice the same kind of difference with the Exstata. I'm not worried about it...- Coreyk78
