Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions
If you compare the photos of your aftermarket cable with Earfonia's, you will notice that your aftermarket cable has heatshrinks wrapped around each connector, covering half of the silver part of the connector, whereas Earfonia's had none. As the R70X has a very deep and narrow jack on...- DarkKnight74

Forza AudioWorks Impressions Thread
Not sure if it's of any help, but according to Forza Audioworks' Facebook page, Matthew is currently away on a break in Nepal and will only be back on 25 Feb. So I am guessing that he might not have regular, or not even have, access to his emails. -

The FitEar CIEM Impressions Thread
Thanks bro. I guess I was unfortunate to have placed my order at a time when FitEar was swamped with orders, and to have received a sub-par quality pair initially, both of which contributed to the long turnaround time. It's a pain which I hope others who are still waiting for their FitEars need...- DarkKnight74

Haha thanks guys. The wait was definitely an agonising one, but it has made me treasure the 334s even more. Paired them up with Toxic Black Widow last night, and my oh my, those sweet luscious mids are, simply put, out of this world.- DarkKnight74

Finally…….after 3 long months and 2 refits……I have my MH334 back with me, with the channel imbalance problem fixed. The entire process could have been much shorter though…..FitEar did nothing to my 334 at all and returned it untouched when I sent it back the first time, as they claimed there...- DarkKnight74

EarSonics Velvet universal custom in ear monitor with three sound tuning options
Looks like tuneable/switchable IEMs are the trend nowadays. We are starting to see CIEMs with switches that give 2 different sound signatures such as the Noble PR/FR and Vision Ears VE6XC. For universals there is the Aurisonics ASG-2/2.5 and now the Earsonics Velvet. The Velvet definitely...- DarkKnight74

Just an update. Popped by Jaben earlier today. Peter tested my Fitears and also compared them to the demo set. He too commented the left side sounded weird, with the bass sounding dull and not extending as well as the right side. So it has to be sent back to Fitear Japan for fixing.- DarkKnight74

Thanks to all who came forward to share so readily. Looks like it's quite common for canal lengths to differ between left and right. New insights gained! Nevertheless, the channel imbalance is definitely there in my set. Even after adjusting the position of the left earpiece so that I get an...- DarkKnight74

Hehe, I demoed the Ref 1 before....for some reason it didn't really wow me though. What really poisoned me, however, is the Lab 1, but unfortunately there's no more stock. Anyway, back to Fitears...- DarkKnight74

There's still 3 sound tubes/bores on the left piece, ditto the right piece, just that the shape and diameter of the "outer bore" seemed bigger. And yes, the sound is definitely more balanced if I loosen the left piece a little, at the expense of a little bit of seal of course.- DarkKnight74

Haha, but Kiats, my issue seems to be with the left earpiece. And yup, will be going down to get Peter's or Claire's advice these couple of days.- DarkKnight74

Unfortunately no. Impressions were done at Jaben on day of ordering, so didn't even think of taking pictures of those ugly-looking things :)- DarkKnight74

Hmm...I went to examine the bore on both sides upon seeing your post. Is it just me or does the bore on the LHS earpiece look bigger than the other one? Sorry about the quality of the pic....not easy to take pics of the bore when the shells are in clear, plus I'm really lousy at taking pics...- DarkKnight74
