Hi there, I use Topping D3X Pro+ with Headfiman Sundaras and Sennheiser 595 (Sundaras 99% of the time, though). I wonder if there's a DAC/headphone amp combo under 350$/€ with which I could hear a significant sound improvement over the D3x Pro+. Thanks a lot!

For the moment I bought a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770 250ohm. Overall, I prefer them over the Sundara closed, just because they don't have that dullness on the mid/upper mid range. For their price the DT770 are downright awesome. Still, I will probably continue on trying different headphones...

The title says almost all: I bought closed back Sundara but I don't like them. I REALLY like their pumping and very controlled bass, but they always lack some sparkle in the mid/upper mid range and to me voices and guitars and similar instruments always sound a bit dull and sometimes too...

Hi there, my Essence STX I suddenly began to emit a loud static noise on the right channel. I tried to swap the two 2114Ds op-amps and now the noise is on the left channel, but the right channel is 100% dead. No sound, no static. Would I fix the problem by changing both 2114Ds with new ones? Thanks!

I can say I really like my 595 but I don't exactly know what is the "Sennheiser sound" since the 595 are the only good headphones I've ever had. With "not too expensive" I was thinking about 250€/$ or so. I don't know if for that amount there is something noticeably better than the 595s. I hope.

Thanks for the answers but I was just wondering... could it be a problem like I described is given by a op-amp gone bad? Should I try to swap op-amps or that hiss/static noise has nothing to do with that? Thanks
