The Stax Thread III
Please do put your thoughts to paper. I have some of those, and would appreciate your thoughts on some of the holes in my Lambda collection.- DougD

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I am ... yet again ... a little behind ... but I believe I have read each of the first 150,000. Time for a re-posting of the Schiit sine curve, so we can reflect upon, and celebrate, the journey. A thread like no other. The friends, the cats, the alcohol, the tubes, the hinted-at submarine...- DougD

The Stax Thread III
I am far too ignorant to contribute to the transformers vs the bespoke e-stats amplifier discussion but I do want to express appreciation for all of you who invest your passion, intellect, time & money into the eternal quest to push the boundaries of what's possible.- DougD

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Just re-listened. GREAT album. Qobuz has 24-192 of "2017 Remaster". I'm Rating it as a 10/10 for Music Quality and Sound Quality. So many great songs. Thanks for the reminder.- DougD

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
One of the great things about streaming services is that you can get a broad intro to David Bowie without much effort ... and you should. He changed direction quite a bit, so it's wise to sample early, mid and late career. I liked Dark Star quite a bit ... re-listened to it just last night ...- DougD

Feedback by 'DougD' on listing '***Sold*** STAX Lambda Nova Signature - LNS'
Purchased a pair of Stax LNS headphones from him. Excellent condition, exactly as described. Well packed, shipped out very quickly. Very fair price. Would absolutely do business again. Listening now :)- DougD

Stax SR-X9000
With all e-stat amps, you're talking about low-volume production. With the custom-built e-stats, there is no conventional retail network. So there is more "purchasing risk" but due to demand and limited supply, you can usually re-sell something that your specific ears don't love ... or doesn't...- DougD

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Of course you were. We knew that. Even the prototype of this schiitwowster would have an integral frame with wheels, serving as a hand-cart. Otherwise it would extremely difficult for the average owner to take a pair of them to regional headphone events/shows.- DougD

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I don't switch devices, but I use Qobuz with and without Roon, and *MAYBE* I have to log-in once every 3 months. In fact I've been busy with other stuff lately and didn't use Qobuz for 3 or 4 weeks, and was kinda surprised my session was still alive. Something is odd in your config or...- DougD

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
And yet ... despite digitalization ... I do not have any more unclaimed "bookshelf" space now than I did 20 years ago. Perhaps I could find a few things to get rid of ... ehhhhh ... NO!!! Not now. Maybe later.- DougD

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android
True. About 10 minutes per day for free. Not clear if that includes a satellite connection on sea days. Next step up is "unlimited" for $229 per person. "Premium unlimited" is $339 per person. I could probably spend my time in the casino for less cost.- DougD

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android
Well that's interesting ... aka a potential problem. I'll be going on a cruise ... probably no internet for 2 weeks. Since headphone listening off my phone will be my main private time amusement, it would be very annoying if the music player stopped working. Anybody have ideas on how to...- DougD

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
(Catching up. Again. is it just me, or has the # of posts per day accelerated lately? Did I miss a post where someone offered a financial prize for hitting the 500,000 mark?) We don't give enough credit, often enough, for how Schiit is RELENTLESS in pushing higher quality performance ...- DougD

iFi Audio Asks... What (Product) Should We Make Next?
I'd like to see the return of a stand-alone eISL. You all have data and I only have opinions, but IIRC somewhere you did call it a "late bloomer", and IMO the niche it fills ... ability to drive both Pro and NB Stax and a few others, with a newly manufactured box ... can only grow. Pro/NB Stax...- DougD
