In what way have I gone heavy with the EQ? I'm have quite a lot to learn so I'm happy for feedback. Do you mean I chose too many frequency bands? I thought the idea is to make it as accurate as possible to the Harmen target. I use my FiiO JT1 with balanced cables and iBasso DC04 Pro portable DAC...- Gil80

Philips SHP9500 - How to know if it's a fake?
Sorry if this is a stupid question. I'm not an expert in this. I saw the Philips SHP9500 in Aliexpress for about $60USD and I bought them. Looking at the pictures online and comparing them with what I got, it looks identical. The entire box is written in Chinese and there's a scratch code to...- Gil80

Advice for a balanced closed-back budget headphones?
Hi. I got a Zen DAC v2 and I would like to pair it with a balanced closed-back budget headphone... if such an animal exists :) My current headphones are ATH-A900X and would like to replace them. The main use will be for games, hence the closed back. But equally important is a wide sound stage...- Gil80

Foobar2000 - Error: "Unrecoverable playback error..."
I just gave it a go and it seems that each file I play, comes up as 44100Hz regardless if it's DSD64 or 128. What I've done to try and make these files play is: Then: and: Lastly: So I think what I've achieved is converting DSD512/1024 to DSD256 which is what the Zen DAC v2 supports...- Gil80

Foobar2000 - Error: "Unrecoverable playback error..."
Hi. I'm trying to troubleshoot this error. I use Zen DAC v2 with the latest drivers and firmware from iFi. I followed a PDF guide on how to setup Foobar for DSD playback. When I try to play a DSD512 file, I get: "Unrecoverable playback error: Sample rate of 22579200 Hz not supported by this...- Gil80

Can't use EQ when playing DSD in Foobar
Hi. I use iFi Zen DAC V2 on my Win11 PC. I have DSD (64, 128, 256) and I use EqualizerAPO. Each time I play a DSD file, the iFi device "disappears" from Windows/Foobar and the E-APO doesn't affect it anymore. I tried used VST EQ plugins and I observed the same thing where the EQ doesn't...- Gil80
