Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Like all things, there are well implemented devices, and then, not so well implemented....... 10-15 years ago, I was a big fan of the dark blue metal case Netgear stuff, including Access points, and their managed switches. When I began managing the network for a 13 campus regional school...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

RTP and SRTP run at OSI layer 6 (session) usually over UDP. In the case of AirPlay, the overhead of TCP (layer 3 packets guaranteed to arrive in order, controlled by ACK and NACK responses) is acceptable because it only works on the local network (ie: it's not routable). Dante *is* routable...

His mention of "audiophile ethernet switches" drives me up an acoustically untreated wall. While I appreciate his politeness, the fact remains that ethernet switches are at layer 2 (datalink), and can't *possibly* know the contents of network packets passing through them. The *only*...

The only one that can directly answer that question is Jason himself..... Participating in this forum had always been a pleasure, in very large part to the way Schiit approaches their craft. I would ask that you spend some time reading a few chapters: Intro and TOC...
