Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements

I had spirit pro and classic before. The pro is completely neutral and classic is a little smooth and laid back. To me both models have strong clamp when you put on, and medium to small ear cups. Both are almost on ear instead over ear to my ears. That's why I love the design of Azurys. It's...

Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements

How does the bass on Azurys compare to Radiance? If it is about equal, then it will be fine to me. I understand Hadenys is better than Azurys. But at home, I have LCD5, Utopia already. I assume I would never use Hadenys at home. But certainly will use Azurys while travelling. Not a fan of Bathys.

Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements

Just for sound quality alone, do you prefer Azurys or Bathys?

Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements

See Jude's comment on page 4. It is still not verified weather these headphones could run balanced connection or not. Only Focal or anyone wish to test could tell. Try 3.5mm TRRS balanced cable and connect with Hadenys and Azurys. See If there is a signal on L- and R- end. Yes. Those headphones...

Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements

Jude already said this in the video. The connector is TRS, so it can't run balanced. Well you can put balanced cable on Azurys but the sound is no difference. Since this headphone is mainly for portable use and very easy to drive, unbalanced is not a deal breaker for me. But If you really want...

Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements

If the headphone is configured single ended internally, there is no way to run balanced. Unless you need to open the cup, dissemble the chassis, reconfigure and connect the wires manually. For example, headphones like Hifiman Deva only have one cable, but the headphone is configured with...

Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements

I have both Stellia and E3. And I prefer the sound of E3. More neutral, detailed, and engaging. However, both are not great portable headphones. Stellia is easy to drive, but the size is too huge, E3 is portable enough, but way too hard to drive on portable DAPs. If Azurys sound as close as...

Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements

Curious how does Azurys compare to Bathys. Not a fan of BT ANC. I will take a listen at the dealer store.

Dan Clark Audio E3 Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions

Like I said, if you dig the look and you love audio technica's house sound, go ahead and get it. Otherwise, I will look elsewhere. There is just not so many options for great sounding portable, pretty, foldable wired headphones. Maybe consider IEMs.

Dan Clark Audio E3 Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions

If you really dig the look, go ahead and take it. It is one of the most beautiful portable headphone out there. They sound ok, just don't expect amazing sound. Personally I don't think wear DCA aeon noire is silly.

Dan Clark Audio E3 Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions

The Ether is one of early headphones that Dan developed. At that time, there was no foldable hinge mechanism system like today's E3. Now the build quality is of course much durable compare to Ether. If DCA come with a future version of E3 that is easier to drive by DAPs, I will definitely take...

Dan Clark Audio E3 Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions

Heard the Liric 2 at the dealer store. Yes. It's better than the first gen. But to my ears I have to say it is still not good enough to justify 2k price tag. I agree that Liric 2 can only compete with Focal Celestee or Aeon 2 Noire. At the same price tag as E3, I won't say E3 blow Liric 2 out of...

Dan Clark Audio E3 Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions

I don't agree either. It really depend on how do you use your headphone outside. If you are a frequent traveller and have frequent meetings, of course BT ANC headphones would work better. However, I use headphones outside most for commute and walk around at the park. It is not loud enough like...
