iFi audio LAN iSilencer - Your network. Silenced.
I'm not sure if anyone here has tested both at the same time? 3 seems to be the most logical I guess. Ultimately they are both setting out to do the same thing - galvanically isolate the end device from the router's noise. The benefit to the iSilencer (in theory) is that its a passive device...- Lvivske

iFi audio LAN iSilencer - Your network. Silenced.
I need to finish typing the silencer review but in the meantime I went and ordered a new LPS and Linksys router and 12v switch  I also did a little experiment with a fully powered switch I had in the garage and think it was maybe better (but too impractical to use so I didnt spend...- Lvivske

iFi Zen Stream: Setup, Tips, Tricks...
I know this isn't supported (but would fall under "Setup Tricks" ;) ), but since Zen OS is (a fork of?) Volumio, would it be possible to install Headless Plexamp on the Zen? https://www.reddit.com/r/plexamp/comments/1be4tbr/installing_plexamp_headless_inside_volumio/- Lvivske

iFi Zen Stream: Setup, Tips, Tricks...
Shame the Zen stream doesn't have plans to support Plex, I just got into PlexAmp as a Roon alternative and it would've been great to use the ZS This got me on a tangent and ended up trying out DLNA for the firs time off my Plex Server and....I noticed a lot of audible noise when tracks are...- Lvivske

iFi audio LAN iSilencer - Your network. Silenced.
I had half the review done and the rest in point form notes but then last week I tripped on covid and, while mostly better now, my hearing is all f'd up now (probably because sinuses) so whatever I end up writing will have to based on my earlier impressions.- Lvivske

step up voltage idea was a bust, could dial it in perfect but not enough amps with 5v outputs. Oddly, it worked on a 5v/3a SMPS, but in the end just gonna settle with the iPower 15v/1.2a. Still wonder what a power supply that's the correct voltage and amps would sound like...? ...Think I've got...- Lvivske

iFi audio LAN iSilencer - Your network. Silenced.
voltage cable coming saturday, I think it's got a variable control so i should be able to confirm it's putting out a proper 12 volts. If not, I guess the ~17v iPower into the 12v router will be the option for now No idea what other routers would be worth auditioning, need wireless bridge mode...- Lvivske

you haven't seen these drunken ramblings I call 'notes' Tried out the USB voltage step up for the 12v router off the 5v Topping P50, works like a charm so far bad: the TP-Link router doesn't support range extender / bridge mode to act as a wifi receiver (weird), and it didnt include...- Lvivske

OOOOOKAY, Linksys/iPower into the switch-silencer kicks ass, old EQ profile again, everything sweet. 🤌 (maybe too punchy) Ordered a WiFi 6 / Wireless AX tri-core TP-Link off Amazon warehouse deals, gonna see tomorrow if it's any better than the 2016 Linksys, both with the LPS if that works out.- Lvivske

Even going to a full size router, I'm gonna need a new dedicated rack....I've knocked the ZS onto the floor twice so far futzing with cables - Lvivske

WiFi. It's a WiFi setup! I'm just not sure FMC is going to do here big picture, I'm not trying to avoid theoretical pollution on a long network run, this is contained to a small rack and the iSilencer was my last line of defense doing the isolation. So far I'd say the router model has made...- Lvivske

Credit to the networking enthusiasts, I didn't expect going into this that WIFI vs LAN would sound so objectively different, but here I am. Sadly it still puts me in a situation where while clarity improves, bass (and soundstage) is lost and I can't blame the iSilencer for that - it improves...- Lvivske
