THE WATERCOOLER HEADPHONE EDITION – Headphones, Amps, DACs, and desktop/home audio related – a freewheeling discussion of gear, impressions, music, and musings.
When I had my pair I speaker tapped a 115 wpc vintage receiver. I've still yet to hear another headphone slam with that much malicious intent.- Monsterzero

Swapped out the stock hybrid pads today for the thin protein pads, and I'm rather enjoying them. They def have a faster and snappier presentation. Additionally i feel like the bass, both mid and sub seem to be slightly elevated as well as a slight elevation in treble. On the downside, the thin...- Monsterzero

The Masher is actually quite a nice sounding tube, at least it was in my Lampizator DAC. The fact that they're cheap as dirt helps too- Monsterzero

The (Un)Official Amp Thread For ZMF Headphones
Yeah, I mean if its within your financial and logistical means, I'd keep all three in your chain for awhile before deciding which amp(s) to keep and which to move on from. Classic metal, like Priest, Maiden, Saxon, Ozzy, Accept, Angel Witch, etc will not tax the Aegis one bit. Some thrash might...- Monsterzero

The (Un)Official Amp Thread For ZMF Headphones
Hey Joe I actually do not own the Aegis. It's been a year and a half since I heard the very first prototype, which is now owned by @goldwerger However I do own the Airmid, and both the Airmid and Aegis share many similar traits, so I feel fairly confident in the following opinions. ZMF Aegis Official Thread
Reposting my Aegis review for those who missed it the first time awhile back. This review is of the DIY Aegis, but apparently the ZMF version sounds essentially the same. For the fast and easy opinion of what I think of the Aegis, fast forward to the 18:20 mark.- Monsterzero

The (Un)Official Amp Thread For ZMF Headphones
With all of the talk lately of the Aegis I should prolly re-post my Aegis review I did way back when. Granted this is a review of the DIY version, but apparently the ZMF version sounds essentially the same, with some nice quality of life features thrown in. If you just want my down and dirty...- Monsterzero

Yeah, ZMF usually brings a ton of headphones and amps to check out. Get there early, the ZMF room is quite the popular destination. Laker freak, huh? Who's your favorite Laker now and of all time?- Monsterzero
