Just came across this thread... I have the HD800s and several amp/DAC combinations... I would say the best combination I have is the WOO WA7tp with some nice NOS tubes... I most enjoy the Woo with 1956 CBS-Hytron JHY 5814 WA ECC82. Many great combinations though...

Oh haha wasn't thinking Of course different tubes... I was able to get the Hytron's on eBay just a few days ago, the guy might still have a couple pairs available. Looking forward to trying everything out.
