Some people say warming it up helps the sound. I don't think my ear is good enough to tell the difference. But for what it's worth I don't turn mine off.

I've only used my IEMs single ended with the Midgard but they work beautifully. That said I only have the Truthear Zero Reds so my experience is somewhat limited. 🙃

I think it requires a mod, but I believe the DT 1990 can be converted to balanced. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Awesome! I'm curious about that comparison. I nearly bought the Magni+/Modi+ instead of the Midgard/Modius E stack. Very happy with where I landed, but would love to hear a comparison none the less.

I don't think you'll be disappointed! I really love my Modius/Midgard stack. Its nice they are the same form factor and both have the XLRs. Please let us know what you think once it arrives. :wink:

That's odd, mine doesn't do that. I'd email Schiit about it. In my experience they are very helpful, I suspect they'd replace your unit.

Is the XLR plug loose in the connector? Or is the connector loose on the board? I just looked at mine and it doesn't seem unusually loose in a way that made me flag it. It might wiggle a tiny bit but it doesn't seem off to me. Perhaps other units have better anchored XLR plugs, but I wouldn't...

I agree 100%. I just got a pair of TruthEar Zero Reds yesterday and they are incredible with my Midgard/Modius combo. I heard they were good, but I'm a bit floored by just how good they sound. This is my first pair of good IEMs and I may have to pick up more based on this performance. Makes me...

It is not a true balanced out. However I don't believe that means it's safe to use an XLR adapter. Someone else may be able to speak to this better than me.
