Windows Sonic vs Dolby Atmos & 7.1 virtualization in Creators Update
Aww crap it's not free, but I'm using the trial and think I may purchase, it's $29 Canadian I think it said. Side note off topic, grabbed a pair of Sennheiser HD25 during the sale! Missed it from Sennheiser's direct page with the chance of getting a limited edition model, but ordered via...- ShampooCA

Windows Sonic vs Dolby Atmos & 7.1 virtualization in Creators Update
Thanks I'll have to give it a try. I have a Sony setup with DTS for my home theatre. STR DN1080 in a 3.0 speaker setup. I prefer the DTS to Dolby. I'll post back with my impressions. Edit: Christ it's free?! Sweet 🤘🏾- ShampooCA

Windows Sonic vs Dolby Atmos & 7.1 virtualization in Creators Update
Bringing back an old post from the grave, but yes, I've played BFV with this setting on and it did help with the soundstage and location tracking. I found that BFVs footsteps etc. impossible to track direction, but with this on and my Philips X2 headphones I have an easier time. Takes me back to...- ShampooCA

Official X1 stable firmware discussion thread--version 2.0: Added library search function, Recently Played playlist, ReplayGain
I'm going to assume my issue is going ignored now, since you replied to someone that mentioned something after me. The unit freezing is a huge bug. Simple test, just throw a unit you have into line out mode, turn it off, then turn it on, and don't touch it, let the screen turn off on its own... -
Official X1 stable firmware discussion thread--version 2.0: Added library search function, Recently Played playlist, ReplayGain
I figured it out thank you. While I have you, can you guys please look at that issue with the unit requiring a "reset" using the pinhole when left on without pressing OK with lineout? It's a really big problem for me, as I use it with the Q1. I don't carry a pin with me when I'm on the road... -
Official X1 stable firmware discussion thread--version 2.0: Added library search function, Recently Played playlist, ReplayGain
I just experienced the freezing if left on the "line in" warning without pressing OK bug. It's a major issue in my opinion, as I use my unit with a FiiO Q1 on public transit daily. So if I turn it on as I'm leaving my apartment and forget to check to see if it's turned on and to press OK, it... -
Official X1 stable firmware discussion thread--version 2.0: Added library search function, Recently Played playlist, ReplayGain
I dunno about you guys, but I love a good placebo effect. HAHA, sounds better to me on new firmware! All kidding aside the performance of the unit is noticeable for me. Tracks playing, and switching are much faster, no "lag". Thumbs up, great final firmware! Greatly appreciated... -

A little confused with this last post about the new theme. The firmware file from the first page is the same as this one, minus the documentation? Edit: Neeeeeeeevermind, sorry guys, haven't had my third cup of coffee yet. LOL Also, new splash screen on bootup! :) -
Official X1 stable firmware discussion thread--version 2.0: Added library search function, Recently Played playlist, ReplayGain
This is unexpected, thanks! Great firmware support. I only wish you could've added folder play, instead of working with playlists. *sigh* Also, when using lineout, if you leave the player on that screen without pressing OK, the unit will freeze. I brought this up a while back... -
New Philips Fidelio Headphones
Wow I'm surprised you're willing to give up your Beyer dt-1350s. I can live with the cable over lesser sound.- ShampooCA

New Philips Fidelio Headphones
I hate you for showing me these. I think I'm going to buy them. Even with the exchange rate and duties, it's a steal compared to retail in Canada. Amazon.ca shows them for $300+ These will turn out to be just about $160 all in. Only catch is the full black ones are not $85, but $150...- ShampooCA

FiiO's new Q1 portable DAC-amp: Let's drink to "Happy Listening"!
Hey guys just curious. When you're using any USB DAC with a computer (Win OS) are you setting the sample rate or just plugging and playing? I recall reading you should match the sample rate of the audio device in Windows to the source. I'm using my Q1 with my work laptop playing a mix of...- ShampooCA

Philips Fidelio X2?!
Can you tell me which model case exactly? Thanks! I'm also enjoying the X2's so much I'm debating whether to get another one for the office, as the pair I just got from Massdrop is going to be a home use pair.- ShampooCA

Philips Fidelio X2?!
I received mine a couple of days ago from Massdrop. They're the GIbson made ones that say WOOX on the headband. The earpads were glued on, I removed them by pulling them off forcefully. The glue is serious stuff, took me an hour to remove it all. Hindsight is 20/20, I should've used a...- ShampooCA
