Closing the loop on this with a contrary opinion. I sent the HEK Stealths back and a lightly used MJ3, w/ balanced interconnects and headphone cable, will be for sale soon. The HEKs are better as is the MJ3 but for my use, listening while I work, the cost of that system isn't worth the limited...

I had one for 15 days, I don't remember noise using headphones. I feel like Schiit actually thinks of it as a headphone amp that can power speakers. If you're looking for a monster headphone amp with speaker capability I say return it and see if they can identify the problem.

What are opinions on buying 1) Yggy+ GS w/ USB now or 2) the upcoming Gungnir? I'm considering upgrading the BF 2/64 or reverting to to my Asgard setup and getting off the just one more improvement cycle...

Oh hellfire. First I bought the MJ3 and the Bifrost 2/64, then the Hifiman HE1000 stealth. I've got to do some listening but I'm tempted to revert to my Asgard 3 w/ MB card and Hifiman Ananda stealth before I add an Yggy. This damn hobby.

It’s great. Deeper/heavier bass and more relaxed/smoother treble response compared to the A3’s internal MB module. And the Bifrost and MJ3 combo are a wee bit better in every way.
