Yes, most likely. They sound a bit different though unless you add bass via EQ. Sharpness is not related to cables of course so save your money here. Don't know what it is, a slight edge but annoying. HD660s had it, too.

Never heard of this. If it hums it's defective, the ADI 2 never hums if you set it up correctly.

Frankly I wouldn't bother, Fiio sells lots of stuff and there are hardly any problems. I had contact with Schiit Support in the past and had to exchange one piece of their gear and they have been very nice and helpful. No problems at all.

I think if you set the ADI 2 to -7 you get an output level comparable to the usual hifi DACs, 1.7Vrms SE and 3.4Vrms B. If you set it higher the output will be hotter and depending on your amp you might get clipping. The ADI 2 is still tailored to pro audio gear. You can disable the Volume knob...
