The Sennheiser HE1 and how I came back after 16 years hiatus from Headfi (acquisition, unboxing, installation, and impressions over time)
Its not a fake, but not fully original either. It was actually for sale here also in the past. The drivers appear to be original apart from the dust covers being fixed. The housing is aftermarket, hence the dark colour, made by ES-labs (who also made the ES1a, and the R10 Replica) and are one of...- ufospls2

DENAFRIPS Terminator: the King of R2R dac
The mention of the 15th made me chuckle if its another new variant. I remember back when the terminator was first released Denafrips said something along the line of the following quote, "“The Terminator will be our True Reference Master Class DAC for the next 10 years.” In 6 years -Terminator...- ufospls2

Headphone Tube Amps - The hunt for all 300B TUBE AMPS
Whats with the hostility? I'm not even using Psvane tubes currently. I'm using old, no longer produced shuguang rebrands. And yes, there is a difference between producing tubes to the desired specs for another manufacturer for a specific price point, and building tubes intended for stock use to...- ufospls2

HiFiMan Susvara
Well, They could price it at $6500 and copy Audeze in what they did from the LCD-4 to the LCD-5 (going from $4000 to $4500 retail.) Or, do what Abyss has done with the new Diana DZ and go $500USD below the previous flagships price. They would win a ton of community favour by doing so, and that...- ufospls2

@goldwerger sent me a PM to invite me over and let me know this thread exists. Now that its not an IEM focused thread (so I might actually be able to have some non smooth brained input, lol) happy to be here :) Not much new going on with my system these days, but I'll see how it goes in the...- ufospls2

HIFIMAN Shangri-La: The New Electrostatic Headphones From HIFIMAN
I feel very similarly and said as such in my reviews of both the headphones. The build of the X9000 feels more premium than the Shangri-La. However, all the reports of channel imbalance with the X9000, 1 year warranty, and wait times for replacements (meaning sending the headphones to your...- ufospls2

HIFIMAN Shangri-La: The New Electrostatic Headphones From HIFIMAN
Just based on the housing, the grill covering the driver matching the Jade 2, the headband, and the companion amp looking like the EF400, I'm guessing it will be pretty real world pricing and might also be a direct replacement for the Jade 2. I could be wrong of course ¯\_(ツ)_/¯- ufospls2

The JPS Labs: Abyss AB-1266 Impressions Thread
Hey @Abyss Headphones In the interview below about the Diana DZ it mentions "two exciting new headphones." Does that include the Diana DZ? Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!
Quoting from the website, so I'm guessing it is replacing the TC going forward. "The sound is full, spacious, and very nicely detailed, limited only by the connected electronics. Diana DZ offers the highest resolution available in the Diana line, providing beautiful imaging and realism to sound."- ufospls2

RAAL 1995 headphones, Magna and Immanis
So the 300b amp I know we've heard it will need to be used with the transformer interface, but is the VM1a replacement a direct drive amp similar to the VM1a? It appears to have a female XLR plugged into it, so that makes me think it is, but also has a 1/4" output, so maybe it can do both? Does...- ufospls2

Headphone Tube Amps - The hunt for all 300B TUBE AMPS
Though I don't know about the 4300E specifically, Audio Note UK (post Kondo Split) is one of the few, or perhaps only, that would be in a position to design a tube and have others build it. ANUK not only builds equipment, but has their own lines of parts (capacitors, transformers, resistors...- ufospls2

Headphone Tube Amps - The hunt for all 300B TUBE AMPS
So far the differences are subtler than I thought they might be, but in terms of positives there is slightly more low end, slightly more harmonic richness/warmth (but not tons.) There also just seems to be a bit more "drive" to the sound overall, though thats sort of hard to quantify and a very...- ufospls2

Headphone Tube Amps - The hunt for all 300B TUBE AMPS
I'm well aware PSVANE builds the 4300E, but its supposed to actually be a good sounding tube. It is also fully built to the specs and design given to them by AN UK and IIRC is using Molybdenum anodes, similar to the ER-300b-mo. The tubes I'm using currently are a pair of older Shuguang rebrand...- ufospls2

Headphone Tube Amps - The hunt for all 300B TUBE AMPS
Very happy with the Supratek DHT running the 300b's thus far but I've only had a couple days with it. It came with a pair of Audio Note "Carbonized 300b" (not the good 4300e's) so I'm assuming they are a cheap low end chinese rebrand, but even with these there seems to be great promise...- ufospls2

Supratek DHT Preamp arrived today to try out. Will be interesting, especially once I get some decent 300b's in it. Going to try it into my Boulder amp and also the KGGG for E-stat duties for tasteful colouration (I hope.)- ufospls2

It will certainly be interesting. I'll have it on Monday, so should be able to report back soon with initial thoughts. Though, I won't have upgraded 300b's for a couple months, but I guess I'll find out eventually what the difference is. I'm very happy with my 1110 Boulder pre for straight up...- ufospls2
