For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

IMHO the best John Butler Trio album, I preferred him as anti-system poor artists than rich celebrity who decided after making some money it is high time to stop writing and performing songs about poverty, Aboriginal issues etc. At least I'm glad if he is truly happy now. ifi micro iDSD...

M-Scaler > Hugo TT2 > Feliks Audio Envy Performance edition > T+A Solitaire P-SE Great jazz due from the end of 70's. As far as Hugh Masekela is concerned I strongly recommend his Hope album. Stimela (The Coal Train) track should be played at all audiophile shows.

Oh the sound of that trumpet is amazing. I love some of the ideas regarding music by Herb Alpert so it shouldn't be a surprise his music is somewhere on the edge of magic. M-Scaler > Hugo TT2 > Feliks Envy Performance edition > Solitaire P-SE (but I guess HEADA + Maze Empys or Elites would...

For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

Thanks to @pataburd for inspiration :) Chord Hugo TT2 > Feliks Envy Performance Edition > T+A Solitaire P-SE TT2 and Solitaire are great match for classical music, adding Envy speed and perfect volume control that can rival with the one build into TT2 or other Rob Watts dacs. Have been...

    Rockna Wavelight

@Roasty and @ThanatosVI same here, I don't even have Spotify subscription any longer and usb output in WLS is reversed for 3rd party dacs eventually since WaveLight has been constantly connected to I2S due to upsampling limitations of current WLS software. In fact when I like to listen in NOS I...

For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

IMHO the best Dog eat dog album ever.... so much refreshing like Nirvana in early 90's, Rage against the machine and Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden to new few amazing bands. This album closes the golden decade of grunge while it is far from this genre. All boro kings from...

    Rockna Wavelight

@Roasty and @ThanatosVI in my case the update went fine via Android app. I wonder what is broken inside WLS software that owners have so different experince per every update.

    Audeze - MM-Series - MM-500

@Mad Lust Envy allow me to make another personal statement, copycat your style: if you gonna listen to someone who is financially involved in selling a product (according to his signature) and who is making bold, but false claims you will get the product you would really like only by pure...

    Rockna Wavelight

@TBMY this is something I am yet to explore, but since I've stopped using USB and moved to AES and I2S due to WLS I really wonder if I need this upgrade. Still debating with myself from time to time. From your current experience after using it for some time what are the differences?

    Rockna Wavelight

@Mimetic reading about it and listening for some time are two different things in my book. However you are right: buying and keeping WL only for I2S input doesn't make much sense at all. Rockna WL has some other great features like sound signature that I know it is a keeper for me.

    Audeze - MM-Series - MM-500

@vsg28 thanks for positing those charts. The last one shows cleary why I went with MM-500 instead of LCD-5: there isn't much difference between those two for me to support difference in a price tag.

    Rockna Wavelight

@Mimetic ok, I understand your point, but why not use USB input then? I guess the whole idea behind Gustard DDC has been in the first place to eliminate direct USB connection, but IMHO WL offers great quality of USB input (easily comparable to Chord dacs). I've switched from USB to I2S only due...

An exploration of Chord DAVE, MScaler, Qutest, and Holo May, HQPlayer

@Redwingnine great to see another HEADA fan here. Can't tell you anything about TT but with TT2 HEADA sounds sublime, hence I'm not surprised you like it with previous iteration. For me adding HEADA to TT2 chain has been more essential upgrade than adding M-Scaler, especially with particular...

    Rockna Wavelight

@Mimetic to be honest I never had issue with I2S connection when using Rockna WaveLight Server with WaveLight. On the other hand AES input of WL lacks nothing and the only reason I am using ATM I2S input is WLS upsampling support limited currently to this connection type.

For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

Back to good old Soundgarden Rockna WLS > Poly + Mojo 2 > Meze Advar Honestly speaking I still prefer ifi micro iDSD Signature pairing with Meze IEMs than with Mojo 2 but I wanted to finally exploit Poly a bit since it works with Roon. Focal Stellias with Mojo 2 are great pairing BTW...

M-Scaler > TT2 > Envy Performance Edition > T+A Solitaire P-SE The Envy control of bass makes you wonder on the first track of the album: do I prefer trumpet or drums more? At the end you just marvel at the music while relaxing by watching light glow from Envy tubes :)

iFi audio Pro iDSD Signature and Pro iCAN Signature - The Pro range just got better!

@Nooborghini it is a shame indeed but treat it as lesson learned the hardway, I did the same with Zen Stream and the conclusion is simple: never buy any streamer from ifi and be very careful with TOTL products too if they are not delivered with promised functionality out-of-the-box on the...

    Rockna Wavelight

For those who are wondering and still fiddle with their Rockna WaveLight and Rockna WaveLight Server via I2S settings here is my preferred configuration (after months of careful listening tests) mostly for Jazz and classical music. For rock, alternative, grunge nothing beats NOS without...

For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

Still needs to listen to latest album, in the meantime... M-Scaler > TT2 > Audeze MM-500 - enjoying Audeze fun tuning with a bit of "dirty" and dark sound. With TT2 directly those cans can really shine, no additional amp is needed unless you are looking for tube goodness ;)

After KALEO... it is time for this evening album :) I do wish to have it on CD instead of streaming... M-Scaler > TT2 > Solitaire P-SE (I really need to listen to this album on Envy)
