The Voltage is the special sauce at that price!

My initial reaction to Pilgrim was at CanJam NYC 24 where I got to demo a pre release version. When I heard the impossible news that Elysian was going to price this at $399, I thought, "there goes the ChiFi market" ...those moondrops and dunus were about to get pulverized by Elysian. However...

That's an interesting point, and it's not lost on me having heard special sauce. Voltage seems to specifically avoid any special sauce, and instead wants to present the most balanced, accessible, full bodied, well rounded sound, but also tweakable with the switches. An everything for everybody.

Bro, I think it might turn out that you are the smartest of all of us! As I have, over time, fallen in love with Voltage, all I've thought about is what a great CIEM it would make! I'm jealous!

I think it's a pretty fun thing to do actually. For the cost of an average dinner, I got 4 different chifi, the CCA Trio being one as you know. I ditched those stock cables tho, they are awful and just a means to an end. At least give them a cheap upgrade cable, they don't need orphy...

Can't you remove the connector from the stock cable and attach to Code 24? This is doable with the Eros cable with Noir.

I agree with you here. I also think most of us purchasing from the USA direct from Penon have had great experiences and fast shipping, so they seem to be in no hurry to fix something that's not broken. But to get bigger, they may do what you suggest. They are already a mini distributor...

This is one of the great things about Voltage. It's bass quality is just superb. Bass guitar notes are incisive, drums, too, really the best bass I've heard in a Penon, with due regard to Quattro, a bass based guilty pleasure. The transition from sub to mid bass is also fantastic with amazing...

Primarily, Exact Audio Copy (EAC), which has been around forever. It's great, easy and free unless you upgrade features. Still using it today.

I would have to say Voltage, though it is such a different ballgame when you're hearing all DDs like Monachaa. For instance, the deepest subbass of Monachaa is deeper than that of Voltage, but not enough to make the difference between all that Voltage does bring to the table. Mids, upper mids...
