Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
I use the Render tips. Great passive isolation, silicone exterior will have them lasting a long time, and the large fit well in the case.- jsmiller58

HifiMan HE6 V2 Adorama
I think some people forget the Harman curve represents an average of respondents’ preferences. Even when they use those words, people sometimes forget an “average” is necessarily a representation of a spread and not an absolute value. Anyway, it would be shocking if anyone prefers the...- jsmiller58

Cayin RU7: 1-Bit Resistor Network Dongle DAC /Amp
Interesting! I use Amazon, Tidal, and Apple Music from my Android based Samsung phone and HiBy R6 Pro II, and Apple Music from my iPad. I would not say that I have any notable difference in my user experience between my Android devices and my iPad. I did have a problem once where I found my...- jsmiller58

Unveiled: Meet the HD 620S
I have the ZMF Eikon and Bokeh, as well as DCA Aeon Noire already. Would it make sense to add the 620S? Would be mostly for use around the house when I’m moving about or for light travel.- jsmiller58

Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements
OK, hard day, week, month.. sitting here perusing the thread. Maybe I’ve had a drink as well… need to self administer a bit of a dopamine hit… ok, pre-ordering the Hadenys… holding back on the Azurys… maybe all it will take is another hard week for an Azurys to also find a home… :)- jsmiller58

iFi audio GO pod + IEMs = brilliant wireless sound on the GO!
Yeah, BT is quite easily attenuated by water, and the human body is mostly water. I have found that often I get better results with my source/phone in my front pocket rather than back, or when I am holding the phone (that’s clearly not a viable use case all the time). In general I rarely...- jsmiller58

Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements
I am somewhat jealous :xf_cool: of all the folks able to get the new Focals, as here I’ve only seen them on pre order so far! But the early impressions are great and will definitely help me choose whether to get one or the other - or both!- jsmiller58

Meze Audio 109 Pro
Do you have access to EQ? You can adjust the sound to your taste, and then keep everything else that you like in these headphones. When I feel like changing the sound I use Wavelet.- jsmiller58

For those who have experienced the development of imbalance between left and right, what steps did you take to reach out to DCA? Do they offer out of warranty repair?- jsmiller58

Meze Audio 109 Pro
Yeah, the HiBy MSEB and newly added PEQ (on at least some models) is great to customize so much gear. Today I was listening from my phone connected by BT to my Q15, running some EQ by way of Wavelet. I don’t have anything against EQ… maybe some in blind testing could detect a change in...- jsmiller58

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
My worry about gym headphones (mostly because I sweat a lot during multi hour workouts) is the detrimental affects of sweat on IEMs… I literally had sweat over the years (I admit it was years) eat through a pair of Shure 215 earphones. Not sure how more modern shells will fare, but now I only...- jsmiller58

Long time in the making… got in on the Kickstarter, which like many such programs, is quite delayed. But glad to see that they’re close enough to start listing them 😀- jsmiller58

Meze Audio 109 Pro
Life, and other gear, had me not paying nearly as much attention to the 109s as I should have been. Thanks to the recent activity on this thread getting my attention I pulled them out and have spent the last two hours on a cool, rainy, Sunday morning falling back in love with the 109s. Thank...- jsmiller58

The New Questyle M15i and M12i
I’ve not experienced this with UAPP on any of my dongles. But, with Tidal, this is a well known problem, and I have seen it on my dongles…. If the first track you play is an MQA track, then any track afterwards that is not MQA will be silent. If the first track you play is not MQA, then any...- jsmiller58

[FiiO KA17] Mini desktop-class amp, flagship dongle is officially released!
Head-Fi isn’t a support forum (it is more of a social media platform - think facebook for audio), so getting quick and relevant answers is a bit touch and go… You might want to look at resources here: https://www.fiio.com/supports- jsmiller58

iFi audio iDSD Signature - The saga continues!
If I understand it correctly - and I might not - the reason to separate the power and data is that solution provides for the cleanest audio by minimizing any chance for noise from the power supply affecting the data input path… or at least that’s what I think I’ve read. I have a couple of...- jsmiller58
