Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
The Vidar and Aegir will output their full power with a little under 2Vrms at the input, IIRC. :beerchug: JC edit: that's for the SE inputs.- JohnnyCanuck

Yeah, but there is that great guitar riff that, if you've got the volume set just right, extends right up through the ceiling. But yeah, I hear you. :beerchug: JC- JohnnyCanuck

Funny you should mention that. I have started listening to it recently and let me tell you, with an OG Aegir driving the speakers this song is worthy of a second chance. As always, YMMV. :beerchug: JC We're talking about the original Bob Seger version, right?- JohnnyCanuck

I couldn't listen to the Rolling Stone's Start Me Up for years after MS used it for the intro of Windows 98. I was an OS/2 user at the time. :beerchug: JC edit: or maybe it was Windows 95. Anyway, a long time ago.- JohnnyCanuck

High or low gain? Sounds like high gain to me from your description. Mine's currently doing preamp duty driving a Gjhorn (at low gain) in my basement system. :beerchug: JC- JohnnyCanuck

I use it as a preamp into either my OG Aegir or OG Vidar. They're both driving speakers, though. I think that the MJ3 makes a fine preamp. With the right music it can create a HUGE soundstage, even with my favourite FM station as the source. As usual, YMMV. :beerchug: JC- JohnnyCanuck

+1 for this. I've been playing with room treatment for a few months now and can confirm that reducing the 'room noise' does indeed reduce distortion and allows increased volume levels. Little things like window coverings make a large difference. :beerchug: JC- JohnnyCanuck
