Off for sale is a limited edition iFi Gold bar, I’m the second owner of the DAC. The majority of my listening is through a different source, and this has been sitting around unused for quite some time. I would much rather see it go to use instead of stashed away in my desk.

Interesting machine from Luxury n Precision

If that’s the case then L&P is better off relocating to Taiwan or Hong Kong, or scrapping the Intel thing altogether. US tarrifs are likely to double ( or be raised by a significant amount) soon. Either that or the LP7 will be in very limited quantities at a higher price . But for giggles, it...

    Subtonic STORM: Impressions and Discussion

Ever consider the DC- Elite or the W4? I’d imagine that those would be a great dongle compliment for the Mjolnir.

That and for some components there’s a minimum buy amount. I just don’t think Moondrop has the buying power for some of the better components out there. When have they ever competed with those dongles? Have you seen the Dawn?

Barely in but apparently STAX is now entering the Mid Fi space. https://www.head-fi.org/threads/stax-srs-x1000-and-sr-x1-now-available-to-pre-order-at-headamp.972601/

Those were the exact use cases I was thinking of. At $399 it’s a YOLO purchase and if it doesn’t work out I could likely offload it on Craigslist for close to what I bought it for since it’s a phone after all.

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

If it wasn’t price prohibitive I’d do the Novus over my Odyssey. But alas I’d wait for one to come along pre-owned.

What would be cool is a new smaller Weapon driver for customs. But I’m guessing that’s where Trition comes into play.

Cirrus supplies a lot of smartphones, laptops and modems…areas ripe with potential for EMI. I’m guessing it was chosen for that regard.

NEW Brise Audio FUGAKU - The world's first Ultimate Portable Audio System

    I’m assuming it’s a full system, and not just a IEM + AMP. Either way it’s ¥¥¥.

Updates are even more important if it’s a pure DAP, let alone a smartphone. A smartphone, even if they use pure android will still require updates for specific stuff like the DAC, camera, antennas etc to work. I’m watching and hopeful but a smartphone is more complicated than a DAP or the Free...

It’s the Japanese culture, they take care of everything there. My Japanese “in-laws” are the nicest people I’ve ever met.

I’ve been pretty happy with the Corerir Aluminum tips. But bass hits hard with the stock E. Cables I’m still at a loss for what to get and I’ve had the IEM for more than a year now.

No aptX since there’s no Qualcomm chips.

$1k isn’t cheap by any measure, but it’s nowhere near TOTL. By definition it’s mid-fi since it doesn’t cleanly fit into any price genre

By saying that, you make it sound like there’s no trade offs. There are You have a weaker SoC than most phones out there with this, a worse camera and questionable software support. (This is kinda important with security updates and Bluetooth protocol updates). Also any intensive gaming or...

LG is a very large company. Therefore, their numbers are probably gonna be a lot larger to make it makes sense for them to offer a phone. Moondrop will just be fine, I could afford for this to be a throwaway DAP that just happens to double as a backup phone.
