NOO! really, I thought the headphones were doing it. So I bought a HFI780 modded by ALO. Would the SQ of the 780's be about the same as the one I experienced at the store? And no, I do not know what they are but I thought whenever music sounded good it was a binaural recording.

Would the sxc cabled be much better than the hfi 780 stock when powered through and ipod? Im wondering because I bought one and I want to know if its neccesary to buy an amp

Also, is the k701 worth buying if i plan on plugging it straight to my ipod touch? Because if not, I would buy the SRH840. Unless it still sounds better than the shures.

I am thinking no more than $300. I don't mind if it is used or refurbished. My source is an Ipod touch and I don't want to use an amp. I mainly listen to r&b, rap and such. Bass is somewhat important. But isolation is VERY important. Thank you! Roadteez

People told me aside from the design, that was the only difference. I looked at the 702's and they are almost twice the price of the 701's. So I'm wondering what does the detachable cable used for? Easier for upgrade, better sound, etc? Also people told me 702's don't sound all that bad unamped...
