This is confusing since some of us are talking about the DAC only box designed to match the LP and others are talking about the new Liquid Gold amp with a DAC built in. @runeight I appreciate the info on the Gold, but is there any info you can share on the DAC-only box I linked to above?

The A version was warmer. The current version is a cooler sounding DAC. It's still fantastic, but you need to keep that in mind when trying to match it to the rest of your system.

Define significantly. That means something different to everyone. Tube rolling won't change the amp. But, it can help with synergy depending on the rest of your chain.

Why? If you're considering a Gumby/LP combo, the SE out will hamstring the Gumby. It's meant to be used balanced.

Also, important to note if you were going balanced out from the Gumby.

My Gumby/LP is fine (balanced) with the 650s and HE-500s. I'm somewhere between 9-12 on the dial. YMMV based on tubes, headphones, and listening preferences. I'm not using volume attenuation, but a lot of people are. There are a lot of options out there.

If you save your original invoice, it shouldn't matter. 5 years is 5 years. If they can't handle the return through ebay, then they would be expected to handle it through other avenues. Glad they're taking care of you.
