Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

Just received my hybrid cable. First impressions very good across the frequency bands and nice and tidy. Just burning it in. Happy days. :L3000: EDIT: Ok have had about 6 hours of burn in and there is a good more amount of extension in the frequency extremes and more resolution to nuances...

    What Happened to Head-Fi? (Rant)

Yes, there is another forum starts with s and its analysts with graphs and frequency response has me laughing all the way to the end of the thread. I wonder what in 100 years headphoners will use to justify their purchase. The mind boggles.

    What Happened to Head-Fi? (Rant)

After the apocalypse (cough cough covid-19) the zombies returned to head-fi with their headphones.

Actually quite easy. First clip the cushions off. There are two at top and 6 in total from memory. Work on these first and gently bend rotate back and forth so the others clip off and put pads aside. Then use Philips head to unscrew three screws. Be careful here magnetic speaker and ferro...

Agreed. Very poor QC Assuming this is all true then Grado have really dropped the ball with all these higher end models. https://www.head-fi.org/threads/grado-ps2000e-mini-review.851773/post-15675930

Choose whichever you find. Obviously the v2 is improved but the v1 is no slouch. Good luck.

It gets better the higher you go up in the series. :L3000:

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

RS1i has the most bass at the expense of being hollow in the midrange and shouty with treble. Kind of U shape sound. Sr80 and Rs2e similar sounds with more flat sound but lacking any real bass. HF2 would be be closest to neutral but the hybrid cup has a shrill sound to the tops making it more...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

Yes pro82 v1. From memory, listening to grado with its open chamber creates a peak in the mid's / tops with very little neutrality(kinda hot). Bass is non existant on grados both in depth and texture of bass. Not so on takstar. Even after listening to stax, I recall the fatigue when switching...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

+1 Listening to the Pro82 versus the Grado's is a revelation of how inferior the Grado's really are. Be surprised, be shocked at what a low budget headphone can produce. All my Grado's are stored in a draw (retired) and have since gained dust since purchasing the Pro 82. One of a kind. :)

I'd love to see upgrades internally and not aesthetically. Jonathon really likes his wood.

Thank you for sharing this. Yes, I haven't tweaked it or played around but it looks like 2 out of the 4 maybe the best. About to try. EDIT: Works great excellent balance :) EDIT 2: Still like the 3 open hole and 1 closed YMMV :)

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

Ok, Just did my first tweak with the pro 82 v1. Since listening to them, there has been a perceived hotness to the treble which can manifests itself as fatigue when listening in long sessions. The cure? Easy. Simply remove the tape on the centre rear of metal speaker surface to expose all the...
