my problem with the stock cable was that it was really really stiff and not ergonomic. plus it was too long. then the connectors were non standard and hard to get off and get back on. didnt have a problem on how they sounded.

the pre installed protector wasnt hard to take off? was the screen glass or plastic? couldnt really be sure with the pre installed screen protector on it.

just ordered the hype 4. hopefully its really worth the hype. really liked the monarch 3 when i tried it side by side with the hype 2. hoping the hype 4 lands somewhere in the middle with the same tonality as the mk3 (it graphs really similar).

i was able to demo both in 1 sitting last week. they are not close. mk3 is more refined and spacious sounding.. by a lot. hype 2 is good for the price though. if you are just looking for a set with good bass then the hype 2 fits the bill. its just that the mk3 midrange and treble improvements...

you can also download a 3rd party launcher. i personally use Nova Launcher on my R6 Pro. As it is running android you can run a 3rd party launcher.

either is a good buy. just be ready for some frustration on the useability of the pro II case which gets you to press the buttons accidentally. one "fix" i have is the option to disable buttons on a side when the screen is off. this makes you not accidentally change tracks when you just wanna...

@FiiO I hope you can provide users to just choose 1 color (all the time) for the volume wheel. Or maybe 1 color (user selectable)... then white if there is no input (instead of the rainbow effect which I find annoying).

yes. the stock pro ii case looks good. but has terrible ergonomics. buttons get pressed accidentally. solved this by getting the Dignis case. LOL. a 100 USD fix.

i too found the iii a touch warmer. maybe it presented that way since the pro II had more detail retrieval and had better openness. i was actually comparing the 2 side by side and i though that for the money saved, the volume wheel, better form factor in terms of portability, better battery...

never mind. there's a link to the firmware somewhere in this thread and i was able to update it using that. seems like the OTA server of Hiby has issues. Download seems to be just a few seconds long... but on the link it was a 1 gig file. i was able to update the firmware manually using that 1...

Just discovered thaty 3.5 line out is defective. No sound on the right channel. Found this out since I was trying out an amp. 😪 Is there any possibility that this can be a software issue? Could it be possibly fixed with a reboot to factory?
