I've had my Venus II 12th for about 3 weeks and love it! It is much less fatiguing yet detailed and more realistic than any chip-based DAC I have owned, including FPGA devices. I was very curious to hear an R-2R DAC, and I'm so glad I took the plunge! I use it with a Roon Nucleus Plus.

I received mine yesterday--sounds fantastic and remembers settings, unlike my previous non-signature model! I'm using the tube output, GTO filter, and DSD512 remastering. Do you folks use the balanced or unbalanced outs? I'm currently using the unbalanced.

How hard is it to change the tubes in the ProDSD Signature when the time comes? One reviewer said it was nearly impossible and one would need to return it to iFi. If true, that sounds like a terrible design. I'm hoping that reviewer is a complete idiot! I did find a video that shows how to open...

I recently received a gently used pair and love them! Incredible transparency and details, plus they are very comfortable. I would have balked at paying $3,000, but $1780 made them more appealing! The stock cable is rather microphonic, but only if I rub the Y' splitter, which I don't tend to do...

If I leave it on 24/7, about how long will the tubes last? (I had the standard iFi DSD Pro a while back, and it didn't remember the filter and other settings when I turned it off. Has that issue been solved? If so, then there's no need to leave it on all the time.)

Even from Qobuz? I recall different ways to arrange Qobuz or downloaded files (album, artist, date added, etc.) but not playlists they Qobuz and Audirvana do it. They maintain all of the tracks as a group--I just click on the album cover I want to play, and it opens up to reveal the individual...

Unless they've changed the design, I don't like the inability to create playlists on Roon. Audirvana is much better in that regard.

At some point I'll probably switch to a streamer than has an internal HD for my files and ditch the laptop altogether.

Well, crap. The honeymoon is over: DSD files are terribly distorted again. It was nice while it lasted, but back to my MacBook Pro. I'm sick of Windblows.

See my post a few pages back--I couldn't play anything 96k or higher on my Windows laptop with the Qutest. Chord was initially helpful--even sent me a new driver, but nothing worked. Had to give up and use my MacBook Pro. You said it will play any resolution without a driver--does that include DSD?

It must be something in the respective laptop's audio structure since it works with your Windows laptop. Until I run out of storage space, I'm OK with my Macbook Pro. At that point, I'll probably look into a dedicated music server such as Aurender, AuraliC, etc.

Both software programs work perfectly with the DAC in my Oppo 205 and McIntosh MA9000 amp, so that isn't the issue.

I tried the WASAPI with JRiver (It isn't an option with Audirvana), but it didn't work either.
