How does the UE4 differ from the UERM in terms of sound?

Considering getting one of the two. I've heard that the UERM is the CIEM equivalent of the ER4S but I've also heard that the UE4 gets very close. What are the differences between the two?

    JH13 compared to UERM

By the sounds of it, you want the UERM. Not as thin on bass as the ER4S while not being as warm or exaggeratedly bassy as the JH13. The JH13 to me was quite a letdown and especially so in comparison to the ER4S. UERM is definitely the way you want to go.

JH Audio Sirens Series Roxanne Impressions Thread

Hey guys. Is there anyone here that has had the JH13 FP or ER4S and can compare either to the Roxannes for me? I'm after a CIEM equivalent of the ER4S and have been recommended the JH13 and the UERM but was wondering whether the Roxanne would fit the bill if set to its lowest bass level.

How do these compare to the JH13 FP or the ER4S? I'm looking at getting a CIEM-equivalent of the ER4S and the JH13 and UERM seem to be the most recommended. Does the Roxanne come close to being a ER4S or is it just not for role?

My Heir Audio 5.0 sounds less clear compared to my IE80s. What can I get that is clearer and more neutral?

As tempting as it is, I actually am considering getting my not-yet-reshelled used UM Mage reshelled and upgraded to a 6 driver custom for $449. Thoughts?

My Heir Audio 5.0 sounds less clear compared to my IE80s. What can I get that is clearer and more neutral?

my iPhone 5 was the source for both playing 320kbps and ALAC files. Regardless of what the source is though, the Heirs sounded muddier in the sense that unlike with the IE80s, the transition from the bass to the mids is smudged on the Heirs.

Reshelling my UM Mage. Worth spending $400 to upgrade to 6 drivers?

Righty. Reshelling at UM costs $250. Is it worth spending another $150 to upgrade it to a 6 driver set? Also, any idea whether UM would be willing to take my UM + $400 to give me a higher tier IEM?

Good IEM for less than 100

You can find the Dubu DN1000 in the classified for around there. There's also the Brainwavz R1 that costs $45 on mp4nation that I highly recommend. Fantastic sound for a price like that.

How much difference is there between the Rooth LS4 and the UM Mage in terms of sound? Is the Rooth worth getting it I have the Mage?

Tom, your are a legend. Now if you don't mind me asking you one last question, what would you recommend between the new Dunu DN2000 and $100 or the Rooth LS4 in exchange for my Heir Audio 5.0s? I've heard that the Dunu sounds like a tad more bassy Westone 4 (which I have never heard but want...

How much difference is there between the Rooth LS4 and the UM Mage in terms of sound? Is the Rooth worth getting it I have the Mage?

Selling my Heir Audio IEMs and have been offered the LS4 as a trade option. I already have the UM Mage and am not sure how much different the LS4 is. Is there any major difference between the two? Is it worth getting the Rooth?

My Heir Audio 5.0 sounds less clear compared to my IE80s. What can I get that is clearer and more neutral?

Had my IE80s for a while. Love the sound. Got myself the HA 5.0s from a fellow head-fier. Received them 5 days ago and immediately didn't like the fact that they are muddier than my IE80s. They sound almost identical except that the IE80s have a much clearer sound in terms of how much the bass...

Have IE80s and want something neutral now. Where do I look? Heir Audio 4.Ai? Westone 4R?

Thanks for this suggestion. I have been looking at these and while I think that these are possibly what I'm after but I really don't like their shape. Their body shape I mean. I think I gave these a try a few years ago and I really don't remember them as being comfortable. I know that now it...

Have IE80s and want something neutral now. Where do I look? Heir Audio 4.Ai? Westone 4R?

Just started getting into classical and want something that doesn't contaminate the music with its own stuff like additional bass or something. What I want is flatness. Where do I go? Westone 4R and the Heir Audio 4.Ai have my interest. What else do I look at? Budget is around $400.

The IEM/Portable Headphones Deal Alerts Thread - Closed! Use the Deals Thread III instead.

Just got Sennheiser IE80 off Amazon.de for a total cost of $278 shipped to Australia. This obviously changes depending on the shipping option you choose.   Amazon is an authorized dealer of sennheiser products which means they're legit products and covered by sennheiser's international warranty.

Would like advice on some all rounder IEM's with decent isolation at the £100 - £150 ($160 - $240) range.

Yeah they're made such because they're supposed to be worn with the cable coming from behind/over the ear as opposed to straight down. They don't weigh much at all and the only discomfort that occurs is after having them on for hours and even that if you have glasses like I do. The comply tips...

For someone wanting to get to the audiophile status, what should be my next set of IEMs?

The Yamahas are $122 on Amazon and $109 at Exeltex at the moment. And the R50 are $139 on noisymotel.com Any thoughts on the HifiMan RE-400? $109 at Headphonic.

For someone wanting to get to the audiophile status, what should be my next set of IEMs?

They look quite..weak..   They have a usual price of $99 according to noisymotel.com who have dropped it down to $69 and I was thinking that maybe something a bit more sturdy and heavier actually would have been a good option. Maybe like the SE215?   Yeah they've got an absolutely massive...

For someone wanting to get to the audiophile status, what should be my next set of IEMs?

Initially I used to use the generic earbuds that one would get from the old iPods and such.   Then I moved up to some white $20 Sony in-ear 'phones.   That was a few years ago.   Six months ago I took the jump and dished out $50 for the Brainwavz R1 and it was something that I won't ever...

I'm definitely going to recommend the Brainwavz R1. A wonderful pair at come with an unexpectedly great performance. I've listened to all kinds of music on them (hip-hop, reggae, rock, dubstep, electronic and even old classic) and haven't ever been disappointed. Tough build apart from the cable...
