    Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!

For headbands, you can look into Foster branded ones as well...they're not particularly cheap, but they're a 1 to 1 drop in replacement for the D2000/5000/7000. I replaced my D7000 a few years ago with the Foster one (I think it was meant for the TH900).

    Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!

I always found the ripoffs (cheap Chinese stuff) sounded different and less comfortable than the originals. I also attached instructions from the service manual in case the video I linked above was not clear. My D7000 sit quite loose on the head, so I definitely cannot swing my head to and...

    Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!

You have to remove the earpad and its plastic ring it is attached on first. You can do this by pressing down on the earpad, and then turning counterclockwise while still applying pressure. The plastic ring with earpad should come right off. From there, you can just pry the pads off the plastic...

Yes, it's unfortunate that originals can't be had anymore. I bought a pair of compatible ones many years ago, and they just don't 'feel' (sound) right.

Excellent, thank you! Time to look for an authorized Fostex dealer!

Where are you still getting the old Denon earpads? The ones I have are starting to flake off quite a bit!

    Starving Student PCB's

I am pleased to report that the PCB I designed following Dsavitsk's updated schematic for using 12AU7 is functional. Please try to ignore the mess of wires :) Now to find an enclosure!

Probably obsolete by now; the headphones haven't been made in quite some time.

Unfortunately, the screw that is used to attach the earcup is one that is out of production (BISS2 is the reference number, see attached). You might be able to bodge together something with an M2 bolt, unless you can find someone that has spare screws they are willing to part with. I have...

Encompass might have the parts you are looking for; though I don't think they carry the headband padding (though that can be replaced with a Fostex TH900 headband pad, which is functionally the same)

CMOY PCB ready-to-etch file wanted--Made my own!

What would be the advantage of having two TLE2426? I thought one should be sufficient. You might as well consider using a buffer at this rate :)

Lovely! What's the size of that board?

CMOY PCB ready-to-etch file wanted--Made my own!

I haven't even checked to make sure the PCB traces are correct :), much less considering getting them fabbed. I'd assume JLCPCB would be the cheapest ($2 or so), but the online quotation is charging me $12 for shipping (5 boards total). Might be worth having 'em made if I can verify the board...

Skill required for a Bottlehead build?

I'm also a bit late to responding to this post, but I'm working on a SEX myself, and the instructions are very thorough. As mentioned, as long as you can do some basic soldering, you will have no problems with the kit. Just take your time and slowly work through it. I'm working on it...

CMOY PCB ready-to-etch file wanted--Made my own!

Do you mean something like the above? Or were you looking for something that is more hand etchable friendly? My design mounts the input/output jacks as well as the RK097 Alps pot. It measures around 50x30 mm, if I remember correctly.

    Starving Student PCB's

I have re-traced the schematic and am working on PCB design, but with slightly different components (such as using WIMA MKP series film caps). However, I am running into some trouble with connecting up all the nets in the PCB design!

    Starving Student PCB's

Eh, worst case scenario is that I design the PCB myself. Was just trying to save a bit of work. I can try my hand at PCB design and then post up the schematics for anyone that's interested; only problem is I haven't done PCB design work for about 15 years now, so I'm a bit rusty and will need...

    E09K Problem

I am using a E09K (Qogir) and have some problem with sound output. My setup is as follows: Computer --> USB to --> Topping D50 DAC --> L/R out --> Aux in of E09K --> Headphones However, there is no sound. I am not sure if the E09K is the problem. The indicator LED flashes red when I turn it...

    Denon D7000 headband replacement

If you need the Solidworks file, do let me know! I haven't prototyped it yet, but the measurements are to the best that I could measure with my calipers. You'll need a tap as well, to make the threads (those are only cosmetically in the model, at this point in time, since it doesn't make sense...

    Denon D7000 headband replacement

So my original thread was for the headband padding (pleather padding) for the band. It seems that the Fostex TH900 headband does work, so I ordered a couple from Jam Industries (I'm in Canada, so that's who I went with). However, it seems like you're asking about the fragile pin that holds the...
