Thoughts on the Darkvoice 336se?
I've had a DV 336se for a few years for an office system. I think the amp is really good - for the money it is amazing. I use this amp with 250 ohm Beyerdynamic 770 headphones - I think it is a really good pairing.- Csericks

Primaluna as headphone amp?
I ask this question because I exchanged a few messages with a rep at Upscale regarding the output of the EVO 100. I first asked about the output at 250 ohms due to the fact that I'm currently using DT1990s - the response was that the output would be "about 1 watt". As a follow up I asked about...- Csericks

Amplifier Selling
I hope this question is appropriate in this forum. When selling an amplifier is it best to list as a package including multiple sets of NOS tubes or to sell items separately? What do you think? Thanks- Csericks

PrimaLuna Evo integrated as a headphone amp
Thanks for the reply. My upcoming move and retirement will necessitate a change from having separate speaker and headphone systems to an all in one. One consideration is the EVO, probably just the 100. Since I posted this thread, I had a chance to spend an hour or so with a EVO 200 at a nearby...- Csericks

Anyone have any experience with this integrated as a headphone amp? What, if any, dedicated headphone amps have you compared this amps headphone section with? Thanks for any input.- Csericks

Tube Prices
Anyone know the going rate for NOS Chatham 6as7g and Tung Sol 7236 tubes? I bought some several years ago, I have been looking around but I'm not seeing any on the market at this time.- Csericks

Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone
I have been using my 1990s with my Woo WA2 for some time now and continue to be thrilled. I also favor the analytical pads. Of course my tube preferences will be of no use to you. I previously owned a WA6, not SE, and I would enjoy checking out the DT1990/WA6SE combination.- Csericks

Darkvoice 336i & 336SE Tuberolling PartII
I agree that there are pros and cons to most any rig - especially at DV336 prices. I have no regrets about the purchase of this amp, I think it is one of the greatest audio bargains out there. I use my 336 in a 2nd (office) system and, for the couple of years that I have owned it, the amp has...- Csericks

Darkvoice 336i & 336SE Tuberolling PartII
The rolling part is fine - I don't particularly like tying up my amp for 48 hours to get rid of hum. My other headphone rig doesn't require the run in so rolling is quick.- Csericks

Darkvoice 336i & 336SE Tuberolling PartII
I've done that with all of my tubes but I think it is a PITA and I'd rather not. I have not brought myself to do the "Fitz" mod either.- Csericks

Powering the DT1990: Tube or SS?
I think that the DT 1990s are excellent headphones. There are a vast number of SS and tube options, not to mention the countless combinations of components upstream. I am not able to make comparisons and would not consider discounting the opinions of others. What I am able to say is that I find...- Csericks
