OK, now that I have had some time with the JAN5654W I can give you my thoughts. First off for anyone else attempting these be aware they have a gain factor of 70. They are clear and detailed with a wide and fairly deep sound stage. $14 for the adapter and $4 each for the tubes. Not a bad...

The 6J5s are opening up beautifully. Wider sound stage than the Tesla and almost as deep. The sound is more focused and not as laid back though. I will have to put some more hours on them and see if there are anymore changes.
