The JPS Labs: Abyss AB-1266 Impressions Thread
Hey @Abyss Headphones In the interview below about the Diana DZ it mentions "two exciting new headphones." Does that include the Diana DZ? Making the two headphone the Diana Closed (which is scheduled for around CanJam socal) and the Diana DZ? Understand you can't mention things specifically but...- ufospls2

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!
Quoting from the website, so I'm guessing it is replacing the TC going forward. "The sound is full, spacious, and very nicely detailed, limited only by the connected electronics. Diana DZ offers the highest resolution available in the Diana line, providing beautiful imaging and realism to sound."- ufospls2

RAAL 1995 headphones, Magna and Immanis
So the 300b amp I know we've heard it will need to be used with the transformer interface, but is the VM1a replacement a direct drive amp similar to the VM1a? It appears to have a female XLR plugged into it, so that makes me think it is, but also has a 1/4" output, so maybe it can do both? Does...- ufospls2

Headphone Tube Amps - The hunt for all 300B TUBE AMPS
Though I don't know about the 4300E specifically, Audio Note UK (post Kondo Split) is one of the few, or perhaps only, that would be in a position to design a tube and have others build it. ANUK not only builds equipment, but has their own lines of parts (capacitors, transformers, resistors...- ufospls2

Headphone Tube Amps - The hunt for all 300B TUBE AMPS
To be clear, I have no bias towards chinese tubes, or equipment in general, and I don't know why you would take that away from my original post in any way.- ufospls2

Headphone Tube Amps - The hunt for all 300B TUBE AMPS
So far the differences are subtler than I thought they might be, but in terms of positives there is slightly more low end, slightly more harmonic richness/warmth (but not tons.) There also just seems to be a bit more "drive" to the sound overall, though thats sort of hard to quantify and a very...- ufospls2

Headphone Tube Amps - The hunt for all 300B TUBE AMPS
I'm well aware PSVANE builds the 4300E, but its supposed to actually be a good sounding tube. It is also fully built to the specs and design given to them by AN UK and IIRC is using Molybdenum anodes, similar to the ER-300b-mo. The tubes I'm using currently are a pair of older Shuguang rebrand...- ufospls2

Headphone Tube Amps - The hunt for all 300B TUBE AMPS
Very happy with the Supratek DHT running the 300b's thus far but I've only had a couple days with it. It came with a pair of Audio Note "Carbonized 300b" (not the good 4300e's) so I'm assuming they are a cheap low end chinese rebrand, but even with these there seems to be great promise...- ufospls2

Show us your Head-Fi station at it's current state. No old pictures please...
Supratek DHT Preamp arrived today to try out. Will be interesting, especially once I get some decent 300b's in it. Going to try it into my Boulder amp and also the KGGG for E-stat duties for tasteful colouration (I hope.)- ufospls2

Headphone Tube Amps - The hunt for all 300B TUBE AMPS
It will certainly be interesting. I'll have it on Monday, so should be able to report back soon with initial thoughts. Though, I won't have upgraded 300b's for a couple months, but I guess I'll find out eventually what the difference is. I'm very happy with my 1110 Boulder pre for straight up...- ufospls2

Well, curiosity got the better of me. Got a Supratek DHT Pre coming (sadly doesn't have the heater switch, so only 300b capable, not 45/2a3) to give a try with my Boulder 1161. Should be interesting at the very least. Not sure if I'll stick with it over plain old solid state, will report back!- ufospls2

Do you perhaps mean they have sold Immanis, not Magna? The Immanis is the more expensive, larger sized model of the two.- ufospls2

HIFIMAN Shangri-La: The New Electrostatic Headphones From HIFIMAN
The headphone only has never been listed on its own on their website, or even on their website storefront. You can still purchase the headphone on its own, as before. Through dealers seems to be the usual, as they don't sell many of them I would guess. EDIT: Examples below...- ufospls2

Thats a pretty good description. I haven't heard a straight KGSSHV, only the KGSSHV Carbon and Mjolnir Carbon CC. I did own the HeadAmp BHSE. Sonically I preferred the Grounded Grid, it also has more current available. However, the BHSE has timeless and awesome aesthetics. Both are great amps...- ufospls2
