    Light Harmonic Geek Wave

If you have a problem with this then you had better not open up ANY equipment that you buy. Most boxes are largely empty space. It's not about the fill percentage, it's about whatever parts used and the design details. Though, I will admit that this kind of view can be disappointing even when...

What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)

I thought that this was a Schiit thread in an audio forum. I just slogged through four pages looking for Schiit, or at least audio. I guess that I am in the wrong place. J.P.

    Light Harmonic Geek Wave

Since we're on something like the fifth generation of the Wave what in the hail makes you think that the design (or even the last several generations) is still using the 3.5mm balanced connector originally speced five years ago? My guess is that at least the designs produced in the last 3+...

    Light Harmonic Geek Wave

I don't know why we are on Wave 6 when Wave 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 have never been produced. Seriously, this is at least the fifth production candidate, final design of the Wave case - each of which require the board to be redesigned to fit the new case. IF a product is to ever be produced then its...

LH Labs' gorgeous Vi Dac ( Tube + SS outputs )

I love this crowd: damned if you do, damned if you don't. No updates and the malcontents piss and moan about no updates. Tell us what you know and the malcontents piss and moan about too much information, lies, whatever. Oh, and it is often the same malcontents either way. One problem is...

    Light Harmonic Geek Wave

Great! The 500th finishing up the chassis / PCB fitting. One of the really dumb things is that they are on the Wave-5 or 6 or something like that. The biggest problem being that they have never put ANY generation of the Wave into production. Makes it really hard to make a profit on this DAP...

    Light Harmonic Geek Wave

So those boards are not LH boards, but made by and for the development team. That makes some sense because the DAP board was obviously laid out by a different person than whoever (Larry?) laid out the LH boards that we have been shown. The layout style is different. J.P.

    Light Harmonic Geek Wave

This prototype board looks nothing like any of the boards that I remember seeing pictures of, particularly the last few iterations. I also don't see any kind of LH marking or identification. Is this even an LH board or is it somebody else's DAP? J.P.

    Light Harmonic Geek Wave

The problem is that they are currently working on Wave 4 (or is it 5), but none of the previous versions were shipped. Yes, most companies develop a product, do a production run and sell them while developing the next generation. These last little nuisance steps tend to please the customers...

    ZMF Auteur Thread

WOW! More beautiful Auteurs. I can't afford another set - heck, I couldn't afford the pair that I have (thanks again, Zach). Could I just buy a set of finished cups? :D Maybe change them out myself once a year or so. :O J.P.

    Light Harmonic Geek Wave

I wouldn't be happy with a refund. I'm still awaiting delivery of two Wave X128s and a Source. Anything less and I am not happy. Of course, sooner is better than later, but ad long as Larry is pushing ahead (as slow as that is), I'm okay with it. Not happy, but okay. I'll give Larry...

    Light Harmonic Geek Wave

No subterfuge or underhanded shenanigans needed. Through sheer management incompetence LH Labs burned through all of that money, and then some just running their business for five years while failing to complete the designs on the products offered through the indiegogo campaigns. Yes, it...

ATTICUS and EIKON, the new dynamic driver headphones from ZMF

I prefer lighter colored woods, but with that said, those are a BEAUTIFUL brown. If it is dark, that's the kind of dark that it needs to be. J.P.

What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)

@Baldr you are right on with this post. Hear what you like, buy what you like, but don't try to tell me that I my perceptions and my choices are wrong. Nobody but myself can ever know what I can and cannot hear. NOBODY! With our current limited state of technology, what goes on in my head is...

    ZMF Auteur Thread

So, last night my Ash Auteur gave me an Oh Wow moment. I was working on the computer and listening to music through my Auteurs. The playlist included the Telarc album Time Warp and Jazz at the Pawnshop. The Telarc redordings are pristine and in many ways impressive, but they tend to be tather...

    Light Harmonic Geek Wave

I would guess that they are shipping DaVinci DACs as many as are ordered, built to order. Then again, how many $30,000 DACs are ordered in the average month? On the other hand, I get the impression that Tesla speakers and amps are almost as screwed up as the Pulse and Vi DAC. Some types in...

    Light Harmonic Geek Wave

Oh.... Whatever. Waves will be built, October 2018. October 2018 of what year though? (Let's see... 2018÷365-31 - or is that (2018-31)÷365? This was not a sale of product, it was an investment venture through the tool (good word there) of crowd funding. Investor beware. Whatever, we're...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

@ItsAllInMyHead You took the long way to say it, but you have it exactly right. This can be confusing, but ultimately not that hard to understand if you understand a few basic concepts. Separating these concepts seems to be the biggest challenge until you understand at least some of them...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

The flaw in thinking is equating gain with power. There is no relationship between the two. Gain is ONLY the ratio of output voltage to input voltage. Higher gain means only that the maximum output voltage will be achieved with a lower input signal level. J.P.

I wonder what percentage of backers have requested Tidal support? How about what percentage of backers who have contacted LH Labs? Wanna bet less tuan 10? Larry hears what he wants to hear. :( J.P.
  25. wingsounds13

    Light Harmonic Geek Wave

Tidal was not a feature that was offered in the indiegogo campaigns. Holding back production to add new features is stupid, especially for a product that is already YEARS behind schedule. Close the books on this chapter, lock the feature set down for Wave 1 (the indiegogo version) finish...
