Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
My LC/Gungnir came out to be around $1200. I just ordered a Gumby because I found one for a nice price and wanted to compare the multibit to the delta-sigma. I have my mahogany TH-X00. I'll wait for reviews of the purpleheart to come out first, comparing it to the mahogany, before I...- GokaiN

Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
Used to use an m9xx, which I bought specifically for the TH-X00, as it was my first headphone beyond entry level audiophile. Since then, I've moved to a Liquid Carbon/Gungnir setup, which sounds awesome. I think the important part to prioritize is an amp with very low output impedance. A...- GokaiN

Schiit Gungnir DAC
I did it, guys. I ordered a Gumby. Didn't go the upgrade route, as I'm looking forward to A/B testing it and keeping the Gumby if it impresses me (both the DS and MB were bought used). Nevertheless, I'm frikkin' psyched!- GokaiN

Schiit Gungnir DAC
LOL, I felt like I knew this would be the response before asking, but what exactly does the MB do to make it so much better? I feel like I've reached some point of a mountain that I'm climbing, but now there are clouds that block the rest of the view, and I have no idea how much further it goes...- GokaiN

Grace Design x Massdrop m9XX DAC/Amp Review: First Impressions
The LC is a slighter warmer amp than the m9xx, and quite a bit more powerful. The main reason I switched was because I own an Omni (Blackwood) and was looking to squeeze out that bit of performance by providing >1.5W of power. The m9xx did a fantastic job of powering it, but the bass tightens...- GokaiN

Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread
I have both the KZ-ATE and the Monk and feel that I enjoy the Monk a lot more. The KZ-ATE is a little too warm for my taste, while the Monk has such superb clarity and soundstage. Ultimately, we're comparing apples to oranges since one is IEM and the other earbud, and I'm also biased towards...- GokaiN

Grace Design x Massdrop m9XX DAC/Amp Review: First Impressions
If anyone's interested in purchasing the M9XX, please PM me. I've got a "like new" condition unit that I'm looking to sell as I've upgraded recently to the Liquid Carbon/Gungnir. Fantastic amp, but the upgrade bug hit :( Sadly, I work in an office that works more collaboratively, so...- GokaiN

Advice on DAC/Amp for Office ($500 MAX)
I think the Grace Design M9XX is a great option. It's got a nice combined, small form factor, is easy to transport, drives planars well besides those on the level on HE-6, and 600 ohm dynamics. The output impedance is also 0.01 ohm, which is ridiculously nice. It's got really transparent amp...- GokaiN

Schiit Gungnir DAC
Hi guys, Just got my Gungnir and I'm freaking loving it. Coming from a Grace Design M9XX, this thing is tremendous. But since I got a Delta-Sigma unit, it's making me curious about the Multibit. Does anyone have any experience comparing the two?- GokaiN

Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
I think I saw a comment once that stated that the TH-900 sounded worse with the TH-X00 pads. Of course, anecdotal evidence regarding pad swaps seems highly inconsistent and you're probably better off trying it out for yourself.- GokaiN

World First! Massdrop x HiFIMAN Collaboration Announcement
Although I personally have almost no interest in entry level open back full sized headphones anymore, this could definitely be a contender for the top performance to price ratio. I've had an HD 558 for several years, and even now, I believe that it and the HD 598 (for sale prices $85 and $100...- GokaiN

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I think one of the best things about the audio equipment industry is number of small manufacturers that are so hyper focused on quality because they have a passion for equipment themselves and would want to provide others with no less than the quality they themselves would want. ☯️ Cavalli Audio's Liquid Carbon... a $599 Cavalli amp???
I had no idea about this. I never ran into this issue with the m9xx, which I never ran near 0. The funny part, though, is that I was using low gain at the times this happened. But I'm glad it's a normal thing; at least I know how to avoid this now.- GokaiN

☯️ Cavalli Audio's Liquid Carbon... a $599 Cavalli amp???
Ah, thanks for the info. I'm in no rush (unless of course, something goes terribly wrong). Also, until now, I've been using my m9xx as the DAC feeding my LC, and it's been pretty damn good. However, I'm about to receive a non-MB Gungnir tomorrow and can barely contain myself! Does...- GokaiN

☯️ CAVALLI AUDIO ➜ The Liquid Carbon Upgrade Guide & Impressions Tour
Hey guys, not sure if this question has been asked/addressed here before, but here goes anyway... I got my LC 2 weeks ago, and I'm loving it. However, it definitely wasn't enough time for me to instantly upgrade to a premium amp, as I need some time to really take in that Cavalli house...- GokaiN

☯️ Cavalli Audio's Liquid Carbon... a $599 Cavalli amp???
I've had the LC for about 2 weeks and so far, I've only encountered this twice while using my Magnum v6 through the SE. I don't think it's significant (yet), but if it happens more frequently or on a more permanent basis, I will contact Cavalli to have them resolve the issue, so it's not really...- GokaiN

Grado modders go Magnum
Hey guys, I recently bought/assembled a pair of magnum V6 headphones with L cush pads, and they sound amazing. I absolutely love listening to them with the way they currently sound. One thing that came to mind, however, was that the driver area was exposed due to the opening in the L cush...- GokaiN
