The Conceros (all three of them) are incredible sounding little devices. I have the OG Concero and will never part with it. The fact that it's tiny and USB powered beggars belief. Resonessence got the secret sauce right with these diminutive masterpieces. For the money nothing comes close...GLWS!

I cannot imagine that having selectable voltage would be the root cause of your noise issues, but stranger things have happened. Keep at it and hopefully you'll come right without needing any repairs.

Honestly? I think it's to make prospective purchasers think that they are easy to drive. Which they ain't and to be honest neither are the previous iteration 103dB / 25Ohm versions.

Thank goodness we all hear differently or we'd have no hobby! I happen to really enjoy mine balanced with stock pads. Fits my pixie head like a glove and oh that bass... I don't use them all that often but it's a treat when I do.
