    Hifiman HE1000-SE

So it's been a week since i got the headphones so i thought i would change back to my old HD700's and i can truly say that my ears are forever lost to the expensive audiophile world now. I can't ever go back ......the difference is so clear. Playing Metallica - Nothing Else Matters LIVE from...

    Hifiman HE1000-SE

Would love to hear your EQ settings! I tried the preset through Peace Equalizer that is named "Bass Boost". Boosts heavily the 10Hz, 21Hz, 24Hz and slightly 83Hz. Also added pre-amp to avoid clipping. The bass really slams! For me this turns the headphones into something really entertaining. I...

Creative SXFI or other VSS for competitive FPS games, yay or nay?

I have a SoundBlasterX G6 but i run it in stereo mode only as games today implement they're own HRTF so there is no need to add anything extra on top of that distorting sounds. Any headphones with good imaging and soundstage are good for FPS gaming i'd say. Never heard the D7000 but i have heard...

    Hifiman HE1000-SE

Just curious, do any of you run any EQ with these? Currently running the Oratory Parametric EQ with a slight boost to the bass but not quite sure what i like more. The added bass do make everything more fun to listen to but any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Hifiman HE1000-SE

Oh god the audio bliss. I took the plunge after reading and watching reviews of almost every audiophile headphones out there and ended up gambling that the HE1000SE was the right pick. No shops had it for demo so i had to take a leap of faith basicly. I came from Sennheiser HD700 and previously...

    HE1000 Stealth - Gaming performance?

Then HE1000 should definetely be up to the task. I see Arya is the little brother of HE1000 and then you got the big daddy HE1000SE. Arya is definetely nicer priced than the rest, need to do some more research first :)

    HE1000 Stealth - Gaming performance?

Anyone have any experience using either HE1000 V2 or Stealth in games? I was thinking of buying the HD800S which is the holy grail for games but i don't like to spend that amount of money on something that doesn't "wow" me. I really like headphones with warmth and a bit of bass to the sound and...

    Sennheiser HD700->HD800S or Denon 9200

I've had the Sennheiser HD700 for many many years. I've tried changing them with many other headphones, even selling them and by the end of the week i have bought HD700 back again :D They really have been my go to headphones and i feel they are almost perfect. Super comfortable but the sound...

    VZR Model One

Have it on order now, really excited to test these out. I even e-mailed VZR on what kind of headphones i was using and what kind of sound i liked and got a reply that even the sound director of Call of Duty loved these. He had previously used HD800S which i thought to be my endgame headphones...

    VZR Model One

Very curious about these. Just come across videos on them and the reaction from reviewers i really trust makes me want to buy them NOW! I am using HD700's now and enviroment noise is not an issue where i sit but i guess with closed back design comes good bass as well? I can EQ the HD700 to give...

    Denon AH-D9200 - 2018 Flagship - Impressions Thread

This is a very interesting comparison for me since i am considering buying D9200 or something better. I have demoed the 9200 and i really liked the sound out of the box compared to HD700 which was lifeless without EQ. Heard tons of great things about Arya but i've tried the Sundara and that was...

    Replacing HD700 with HD58X Jubilee?

Had my HD700's from Sennheiser for many years and now looking to replace them cause they have seen better days. I was hugely disappointed with them when i first got them but thanks to these forums i could atleast EQ them to make them sound better. I mostly use the headphones for gaming. 80%...

How does this BT headset sound better than HD700?

Difficult question but this kinda screwed with my head a bit. I've used the Sennheiser HD700 for about 5-6 years now. When i first got em they sounded horrible so i had to use EQ to make em sound good. (EQ profiles from this forum). Recently the wirings on em stopped working so i figured i would...

    Best frequency response for gaming

I came across an article about what is the sweet spot for frequency response in gaming, and it is from 12Hz to a max of 28Khz. Above 28Khz and you get noise pollution. Now my Sennheiser HD700 are way above that, mine goes up to 42Khz max. Anyone know the technical reason behind this if its true...

    Competitive fps best audio setup

I wish Dolby and Microsoft were a bit more open what the technologies does. Supposedly if supported the games should give you height cues as well like Overwatch. But i feel like Cyberpunk 2077 which is also supported only gives stereo. Sounds to the left is stricly played in my left ear cup but...

The Closed-Back Headphone Thread (Plus Comparisons & Reviews)

Gotten my AH-D9200 now after reading the posts here and seeing reviewers on youtube getting emotional while talking about these. Now i know why! First i was pretty scared putting these on, i am used to HD700 which are super comfortable and i have listened to HD800S which is a giant leap...

The Closed-Back Headphone Thread (Plus Comparisons & Reviews)

Seems many are blown away by these, really tempted to buying these myself. I have sweared by open back headphones for many years now but i think im missing out on the "fun" aspect of headphones which i imagine you get with closed back. Been holding back cause of fear of discomfort of closed back...

    Audeze Penrose X and Penrose

Just curious, what made you guys order this headset for gaming? Most people recommend open back headphones for that wider soundstage + no problems getting hot on your ears in lengthy gaming sessions. Used open back headphones for so many years so just curious seeing how popular these are.

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

I think its better to go for really comfortable high-end headphones. The problem with gaming headsets they usually are closed back which mean its not going to be comfortable in the long run. For gaming i prefer open back for comfort and that wider soundstage. + the mic sounds not good from the...

    Audeze Penrose X and Penrose

Got confirmation again now. Penrose X can work with PS5 but only through 3.5mm connection on the controller itself. The 2.4Ghz dongle wont work on the PS5 or PS4. Thats what the Penrose supports and not X. So there is a clear difference between the devices.

    Audeze Penrose X and Penrose
