Focal Elegia - what do you think?
It increases the bass, but not as much as the Dekonis per my memory. But I didn't have both to compare. What it does do is keep all the detail and magic of the oem pads but just a little different toneality from top to bottem. I have to say that I never had a problem with the bass of the oem...- regaet

Focal Elegia - what do you think?
I really like the ZMF pads! I've had them almost 3 months and find myself listening with them more often than the oem. I had the Dekoni Custom pads but didn't care for them and returned them.- regaet

It might have something to do with the first Valhallas not being designed to tube roll all the different variants.- regaet

Valhalla 1 or 2? I've never heard the Valhalla 2 with stock tubes being described as too syrupy.- regaet

Focal Elear - Impressions Thread
I bought an open-box pair of Elegias because I wanted some closed-back headphones, a backup in case my Elears ever fail and the price was ridiculously cheap. Once broken in I found them perfect for the music I listen to (Folk, Americana, Bluegrass, jazz and pop vocals, Classical....) if well...- regaet

Schiit Valhalla Tube Rolling thread.
One of my 12Axx to ECC88 adapters from Pulse started to fail (at first I thought one of my RFT tubes was dying). After narrowing it down to the adaptor I reached out to Sanjiv at Pulse. Within an hour he responded and said he would replace it and asked if I would mind paying the shipping since...- regaet

How do the Halo getters compare to the foil? I ordered some for a friend since the foil getters are hard to find but they are in shipping limbo and I'm waiting for them to reappear after they make it through customs.- regaet

Focal Elear - Impressions Thread
I have lived in fear of driver failure for almost 3 years (Feb 2020) and recently bought a pair of open box Elegias from Adorama for $339. Thought if my Elears failed I would still have the "house" sound for less money than driver replacement or the cost of a pair of Elex. After about 150+ hours...- regaet

Focal Elegia - what do you think?
I was happy to see a box from Adorama on my porch today. I've wanted a pair of closed-back headphones for when my wife is watching tv or listening to music in addition to having a backup should my Elears die. The price of an open-box pair was too good to pass up. I'm very pleased with them so...- regaet

Schiit Audio Bifrost 2
Well, you got a chuckle out of me, I'm looking forward to your impressions of the upgrade. I don't think you'll be disappointed at all. I was unsure at first but after 36 hours it has continued to fluctuate but improve and after a couple of weeks, I am very pleased with the upgrade and think it...- regaet

Schiit Audio Bifrost 2
I was going to wait too but caved, I thought I could always send it back if I didn't like it. At 24 hrs I thought I might be sending it back, at 36 hrs the warmth and image that was missing was there and now at a little over a week I love it. Worth every penny to me!- regaet

As I said above: The Clear pads sound good, better than the stock Elear or Dekoni Fenestrated pads but not as good as the Aiva pads. For me, there is more detail, clarity, air, and soundstage.- regaet

For me, there is more detail, clarity, air, and soundstage. But I have also upgraded to the Bifrost 2, tube rolled the Valhalla to better performance, and upgraded the cables to some Wywires so YMMV.- regaet

I first tried them with two-sided tape, then bought the 3d printed pad adapters which worked ok but I finally cannibalized my Elear pads and they really hold the Aiva pads in place (no adhesive needed). I Haven't compared them to the Clear or Elex pads but compared to the Elear and Dekoni...- regaet
