Audio-gd DI24/DI24HE
It was back in 2020 Ian wrote, it was an assumption. He made it during first experiments based on a general knowledge that USB frame native DSD512 timing is the same as PCM 768kHz. In a consequence after flashing Linux optimised firmware Amanero should support PCM 768kHz too. Wrong! A maximum...- sajunky

For DSD512 you only need to flash firmware optimised for Linux. With no hardware upgrades. For PCM 768kHz wait for an announcement of upgrading DI-24 with Amanero Combo768. I can't guarantee it will happen. Current restriction are specified on the website.- sajunky

PCM 384kHz limit is related to the Amanero I2S interface limit. It is not USB limit, not drivers, as DSD512 demonstrate it clearly. A weakest part impose restriction to the entire chain. With DI-20 nothing you can do as Amanero interface is integrated with the motherboard. DI-24 is different...- sajunky

Your original problem was of not being able to play anything faster than DSD128 with HQPlayer on some Linux source. Once you have learnt with examples it is possible, you are trying to bring things you don't understand and should not be your concern. You are trolling, people are not interested...- sajunky

Q. Do fiber module (1) act as a repeater according to the HDMI protocol or (2) transmit logic transitions while not interpreting protocol? I don't know. Case: 1. It won't work, as I2S is not HDMI, just use the same cable/connectors. 2. It might work with 10Gbps fiber, but it will add jitter...- sajunky

DI-24 / DI-20 support for DSD 512 Now those users upsampling to DSD want to activate DSD512. Information I give is also for trolls. :) Yes, just load the firmware optimised for Linux. There is a guide for Roon...- sajunky

Rockna Wavelight
Is Rockna warranty support restricted to the first registered owner? Hardware cannot be duplicated, there is no reason to apply restrictions similar to licensing software. There is serial number, name of the previous owner, send request to Rockna, more practical approach.- sajunky

Douk Audio U2 Pro DDC - Poorman DDC for an affordable & clean digital signal
Be aware, not all high-speed (or 480Mbps) isolators are based on the ADuM3165/6 or ADuM4165/6 chip! If doesn't say which chip is used, don't buy it. It may use the older refurbished discontinued Silanna isolator or something worse. By example this one is not...- sajunky

Plus the optional connection to external power supply through one Type C dowstream port. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806826164578.html I don't like Type C upstream port, but comes in a metal enclosure and internally...- sajunky

It will play DSD256 as well, 90%. Once I get confirmation from you that it plays in a native mode DSD64, DSD128 and DSD256, I am sure that will play DSD512 after making one small step further. :)- sajunky

From the Q7 manual application notes: 2. What kinds of DACs can a FifoPi Q7 work with? A. Any kinds of SYNC mode DAC..... However, by principle, any master clock mode DAC, such a Hifiberry DAC+, have no way work with any reclockers including FifoPi Q7.... If it means dependancy on the Master...- sajunky

I know already it is playing with DoP option. But I am asking whether it plays the same files with a native option activated. And honestly, if a native 64 and 128 playback is successful, I expect that it would play DSD256 as well.- sajunky

Allright, you meant that Laiv DAC is playing when connected directly to EX. Now is no misunderstanding. I suggested in this post what to do, it is valid. Start with playing with a native option DSD64 files first. If it does play, then DSD128, etc. Not DSD512 from the beginning. I posted a clue...- sajunky

Wow, sorry. I assumed there is a problem when using the USB input of DI-24HE. In such case I am wondering how do you connect EX to the DI-24HE. Please describe connection in detail, including what is a DAC connected to DI24HE output.- sajunky

Yes, I see such option in the Antipodes web manual. Check first a native playback with DSD64 files. If still doesn't play, bring it to Antipodes support. It must be something more to do, ie. on the CX side.- sajunky

It must be some version of embedded Linux OS. I don't use HQPlayer, can't give exact instruction. Go to the options and find DSD output, it must be something like Native vs DoP (default). I know, that by default is not activated. If such option is not available or grey-out, it must be a problem...- sajunky

Confused. Do "I2S bus" means RJ-45 connector? Avoid. It is less standarised than HDMI and quality is not so good.- sajunky

It must be the same as maximum USB rate, as there is no faster input. Problem you experience is with USB maximum rate. For PCM it is 384khz. DSD is difficult to understand, as there are two transfer methods: DoP and native. What is your source (device/OS/player)? Your action depends on this...- sajunky

I don't remember pinout for RJ-45 input, but I am 100% sure that these are not the same wires that come from HDMI connector. It is because of a different voltage standard for those two inputs.- sajunky

Audio-GD Master 9
It is easy to test, I am afraid it will not have any effect. A noise energy is generated inside of MB. Unplugging power supply removes a ground loop, but ground plane becomes floating, so noise converts to a different form of energy. MB ground plane becomes an antenna when cable is connected to...- sajunky

We are going off-topic if following up on the NOS issue. A key point was made in this thread that the amp tape emulator option is not the same as from a real tape recorder and I agree. However I need to point out that in this case a source is CD library - already digital! Converted to analogue...- sajunky
