The brightness on the LEDs on my DAC3 B is driving me insane, they are so bright, especially at night. I can dim the light on my HPA4 to be useful at night but not the DAC3. The stack is next to my screen so it's quite distracting. I love the look of these two together though. Is there anyone...

An interesting observation: the volume control on the HPA4 feels very different than anything I've used before. It doesn't feel like turning down the music, but it feels more like moving the music further away. It's almost like a zoom control or something. Especially when I turn it down slowly...

I, sadly, had to send my Phonitor X 768XS back. It had the rubbing off letters and it needed to be repaired by the factory. I chose to return the unit outright and get a refund. I really liked this beautiful unit and the DAC sounds great. Not only that, but I could not pick out the 768XS versus...

I was exaggerating, I have my Roon multi-device set up set to -150ms delay the Taz, the delay to my ears seems to be between 100 and 200 milliseconds. I have multiple DACs connected to the same amp so I can switch between them and compare, the Taz is the only one that does this.

If I listen to multiple DACs at the same time the Taz is always half a second or so later than the rest. There definetely is some sort of lag.

I've just gotten mine in! Two immediate thoughts after a bit of listening: 1. This thing is tiny 2. I thought the perfect headphone amplifier didn't exist

I can also recommend playing with the DA filters, it's like getting a whole new DAC.

Since I'm newly adi-ed I've found that the ADI-2-DAC functions on Windows without the downloaded driver with the current firmware. It even functions better without the downloaded driver since automatic rate switching is disabled on it. Edit: oops, this was explicitly about old firmware

What I expect is that the third party cables don't connect the ground (the sleeve part of the jack) as is customary in many 'balanced' headphone cables and that the iFi cable does.

Currently doing the DAC shootout and it is kind of amazing how well the iFi Zen DAC holds up in this, however there is a notable sound difference it is pretty close with the power adapter in. However it is still far too early to tell what the results will be :)

I'm crossing my buttery soft -- not anything like sandpaper -- fingers that they just put on one of their ancient face plates and are willing to replace mine. Otherwise, this is might be one of my poorest purchase decisions in quite a while, and I'm quite the idiot.

Wow, they weren't kidding with the labels disappearing. I've had this brand new unit for 4 days. At this rate the faceplate will be unintelligable by Monday :(

I've tried adding multiple DACs to my new amp and making a group in Roon and I had to add a sync of -150ms to the Taz in order for it to be timed the same, so I guess that's about what your delay is. Too bad!

Some preliminary results for the Denon AH-D9200 and SPL Phonitor X 768xs combination for you, I'll come with a better advice later, however: With this amp/DAC the AH-D9200 really scales well, what amazing headphones these are! Some serious top of the line-ness. They become a lot more resolving...

Actually, strike that, following your message I've put the cable into my MDR-Z1R and it works perfectly, so it is the AH-D9200 with the Beyerdynamic Cable in the Phonitor specifically. I've tried plugging that set into my Sony amp and it just works. The plot thickens...
