This is the issue. The "bottom plate" of the connector prevents the "normal" 3.5mm connectors to fit in as deep as the origianl Yamaha connector. Maybe such a connector would work:

Ah I see! Makes sense. I will try a normal/narrow 3,5mm connector and see if that works as well. My fear is that the weight of the cable will not allow the 3,5 connector to stay in place. But let's see.

Does anyone uses an after market cables for the yammy? I want to build a custom one. I see that the 3.5 connectors must be a bit more narrow than normal ones, however when I plugged in a 3.5 connector to the headphone it snapped, but felt a bit less secure than the stock one.

This was my first thought as well, maybe you can ask DCA if ozon generator would damage the drivers? Maybe you can remove the headband and pads and then use the ozon generator, the smoke should then be removed completely.

Hello Head-fiers! Selling my used Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X headphones. They were only used sporadically and are in excellent condition. I bought them as B-stock from Beyerdynamic on 16.10.2023 for €209. I will include the invoice. Used in a non-smoking and pet-free environment.

The DT900 pro X is much more dampened and does not sound as expansive and natural as the r70x. The DT900 pro X has the better bass extension though. I will replace my DT900 pro X with the r70x.
