Personally, for me it's: 1)Apple TV with select Apple/Beats headphones (head tracking). 2) Xbox/PC via Dolby Access license, with any headphone.

For my particular head shape, the Capra strap made the clamp worse with the Wicked Cushion pads. Some people love it, though. 🤷‍♂️ I prefer the WC silicone strap.

With Netflix's "Test Patterns" surround sound channel identification, does the LFE channel work with the Mobius in "7.1 mode" on *Windows*? BTW, the LFE "channel" normally plays it's tone unannounced after the Center channel tone. Link to Test Patterns (no longer searchable in the Netflix...

Negative for headphones. Shield TV doesn't have the Dolby Access app.

For movies/tv, you will need specific Apple/Beats headphones for Atmos to work with Apple TV 4K. Maxwell can be used on Xbox or Windows with Atmos media. Series S would be the cheapest play if you don't care about gaming. Audeze uses that setup at shows.

It's tough rabbit hole to chase that won't live up to the A16, unfortunately. Stereo is just as good/better* than the lesser VSS options out there (IMO*). Been there, done that. However, maybe something might click for you. As far as more mainstream consumer stuff you can play with that are...

Dolby Access is not on the Shield TV, so there's no software based way to do it like on Xbox and PC. If someone wanted the cheapest* option to consume streaming media content with the Maxwell *and* use Dolby Atmos with Headphones concurrently, they should just get an Series S if they don't care...

The Shield TV supports Atmos over HDMI for speakers, but it does not have Dolby Access or Dolby Atmos for Headphones. It does support 5.1 audio over USB, however. Does your answer still stand? It takes the Atmos metadata and does some "trickery"? 🧐
