The Bifrost is very impressive for the price. That being said, I've also owned the Gumby and I'm with AudioDuck - if you can find a used Gungnir Multibit it's definitely a step up.

I finally sourced a Taboo! It's a Mark IV and I'm really excited to finally use the ZMF Decware OTL as a preamp into it. What tubes are you currently using in the Taboo? I'm also wondering if it's possible to adapt the Tung-Sol 5687 into the EL84 slot of the Taboo.

Might try the Universe Suede. I always find myself going back to those out of the seven or eight different sets of pads that I have. The most revealing out of the bunch IMO. Very neutral and clear - of course as always, YMMV.

Congrats Coran! I second the statments on the Tung Sol 5687 (I tried them after Goldwerger's suggestion). For the input tube after trying about 20 different types (because fortunately they're not expensive) I liked 2 the best: Siemens PCC189 and the Tungsram PCC189. Something about that...
