    HiFiMan Susvara

It really depends — for me: in a quiet environment, an open-back headphone like Susvara is always going to be better. When there is a need to be in a loud place, closed-back headphones are always better. When there is a need to travel/remain portable (imagine traveling with a Susvara chain lol)...

Amazing IEM’s and amazing price. If these fit my small ears, I’d snatch this up in a heartbeat. GLWS!

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

New products, especially ones in-high demand, typically never have working codes. I don't think anyone is going to get discounts on DZ at least for the next month or two.

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

Probably not possible, since it’s a pre-order and probably in high demand at least initially. According to Joe, it’s easier to drive than the TC but harder to drive than the MR.

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

What's with all the hate for Abyss / Diana DZ on Reddit? Did I miss something and all of a sudden Abyss is "uncool"? Or is /r/headphones just full of gamer-audiophiles with <$250 budget?

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

My understanding is that the TC is a bit of a scalpel, a tool, while the DZ has a bit of a more audiophile grade tuning… a more enjoyable listening experience— hence the focus on comfort (reduced weight and second headband).

    Spirit Torino Valkyria

How do these usually sound, compared to Focal Utopia 2022, for example? I'm very intrigued by these.

DCS Lina stack with Susvara- Can Lina Amp do it Justice?

The first time I heard Susvara, it was HiFiBuys in Atlanta, on a DCS Lina stack. I didn't have much to reference to, but I also heard Utopia 2022 as an A/B test. As an owner of the Utopia + TT2 and also having heard the Susvara with my TT2, here are some thoughts on the Lina: The Lina sounded...

Amazing transaction. Ideal buyer— Kyle was understanding and provided zero fuss. I would definitely sell to and buy from again and again. A+

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

Less intense and more beautiful sounding than then D8K. I'd say the MR is less offensive.

    Nitsch DSHA-3FN / ECP DSHA-3F Impressions

What about with a Qutest? How does it pair? Also on a side note, how well does this drive Susvara?

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

I had the same issue with MR, which is virtually identical frame to TC, and many say the padding sticker thing (looks like two pillows connected by a bridge) helps a ton. Beautiful Audio also makes a padded headband cover thing for Diana.

    Focal Utopia General Discussion

What's an example of a source + HP chain that is both 1. extremely forgiving of bad recordings and 2. has the utmost detail retrieval? That's the sound, I feel, I've been chasing.

    Focal Utopia General Discussion

All top-tier headphones, especially Utopia, are very revealing of bad quality. You can't have amazing detail retreival and quality forgiveness at the same time, I feel.

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

I haven’t heard the TC but the MR is definitely not above the Utopia IMHO. The MR excels at sub bass compared to Utopia, and matches at highs, but the mids are literally practically not even there in the MR, compared to Utopia which is just intense across the entire FR.

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

I actually have the stock leather pads — which are supposed to be the most detailed. Detail isn't necessarily an issue for me. It's just the mids seem a bit recessed compared to Utopia, and the resolution isn't quite there. I'm still trying to evaluate what it is exactly. By themselves, the MR...

Comment by 'tjkohli' on listing 'Abyss Diana MR / Brand-new'

They're fantastic headphones. If I hadn't heard any better, I'd have kept and loved them for years. But once you go top-tier, it's hard to go back. TC might be a route for me, or Susvara, or Solitaire P. I don't see too many choices at this level :P

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

So I just received my Diana MR and have been doing critical listening for a few hours side-by-side with my Utopia (both via TT2) with the intent to choose one over the other. Here are a few thoughts: Diana MR bass is amazing— rumbles and deep compared to Utopia, which I could describe as more...
