I sold my Asgard 3 when I bought my Vahalla 2. When I bought my silver Asgard 3 they were selling for $200 new and it was definitely the best money I'd spent on audio equipment going back to 1973. It's a great solid state headphone amp.

The Valhalla 2 really shows what an OTL tube amp can do with high impedance headphones.

I had a four cheap risers and I quit using them eventually and just went back to stock tube placement in the amp. I've owned Fisher and Harman Kardon tube receivers and amps and heat is just part of the game. As long as the vent holes in the amp are unobstructed I'm good to go.

I'm going to have to try one. I've only owned a Topping D50 and Modi 3E when it comes to Sabre DACs and I didn't care for either one. I believe that both of those use the ES9018.

The 3E was the only Schiit DAC that I've owned and didn't like.

I'm still using my $250 Modi Multibit 1 with the firmware update. I had the MM2 but the old MM1 just works well with my Vahalla 2. I'll upgrade someday 😌

I have used both the MM1 and MM2 with an Asgard 3 in the past and both paired well with the amp. I've never owned a BF2.

No it does not. I almost didn't buy a MM2 because of these comments. I find it more resolving than my MM1. A greater clarity in the details of the music. I really can't go back to the MM1 after using the MM2. This is just my take on it, of course.
