HIFIMAN New Desktop DAC/Amps: EF500 and EF499!
hmm those two units seems to be real competition for the EF600, which I got last year and now I would prefer the EF500 (which is also half the price of the EF600) :frowning2:- 566805

XDUoo XD05PRO
when I put my hand on the top back area (the dac underneath) of the xduoo XD-05 pro after a longer while listening it is very toasty warm. Have to pay attention to the front part (opamp section). when using heat paste it would be better having in form of strips which makes it also easier und...- 566805

XDUoo XD05PRO
I have low noise power supply from Rod Rain with 2x 12V barrel connection and also one barrel to usb C adapter. That works great with my Xduoo XD05-pro. I did plug in a barrel to USB C cable and it worked, but it got very hot on the USB C end, you could not touch the USB C connector without...- 566805

XDUoo XD05PRO
Here is my XD-05 Pro setup using a pricely cheap player (Ruizu D29) via Bluetooth and have the XD-05 Pro doing the DAC and AMP work. For the Amps I have installed the Sparkos SS3602. In the box I have (from left to right: Lieewho EQ200, Oracle III 02 with headsinks, in gold the AkLIAM VV8...- 566805

XDUoo XD05PRO
it should be possible to make the R2R DAC module in the given size as the ESS, ROHM and AKM. Because I have the Cayin R6 USB dongle, which contains R2R ladder DAC in a very compact space. and the DAC module can be thicker. there is enough room in the compartment.- 566805

Let make an official heavys h1h thread?
not sure what happened when I plugged into the Hifiman EF600 for the first time (still being turned on, which is not necessary when using the cable connecting to a DAC AMP). I put the Heavys with the cable through almost all my Desktop DAC AMP and there was now no difference (between Bluetooth...- 566805

Let make an official heavys h1h thread?
ok ignore my last comment, because when using the cable with a DAC AMP you can run them without powering them on. With that one test using the Hifiman EF600 the sound was muffled no matter what position I pushed the power button. When using bluetooth it is a complete different story the sound...- 566805

Let make an official heavys h1h thread?
I just have mine on my head plugged into my Hifiman EF600. and it seems the sound is brighter when ANC disabled. Would that also conclude that the bass is less heavy?- 566805

Introducing Shanling EC Mini - Transportable CD Player & DAP
I actually have currently one 110+1 CD Changer from Technics and looking for a second one to store all my music CDs. The CD player in that Technics SL-MC410 has some "boost" init allowing to make the sound of CDs cripser and more detailed. and I am still buying CDs. I am interested in a Shanling...- 566805

Thieaudio Monarch MKIII impressions, reviews, and pictures thread
the faceplates are very very nice, but the writing I must admit ruins it. Looking through different posts and pictures on the internet the writing of the brand should be less obvious in the colour.- 566805

XDUoo XD05PRO
I am very interested in that xduoo, but while reading through literaly half the posts it seems the power could be a "challange". I am also waiting for more reviews and the additional modules (R2R and AK DAC Chip) and play around with those. will be really fun to experiment.- 566805

XDUoo XD05PRO
Hello Ben86: the xduoo will work as AMP "only" in that case having the input set using the XLR connection with the Sabaj D5 (is your DAC). Do you have to set a switch on the Sabaj, when using it as DAC only? I have a similar setup with the Questyle CMA twelve as DAC (set the switch to DAC, see...- 566805

I made the experience with the Meze 109 Pro using the Hifiman EF600 ("... Output power: up to 5120mW per channel (balanced) / up to 1800mW per channel (unbalanced) ...") that i can run them both balanced and unbalanced and sounding great because the Meze 109 Pro do not need much power to be...- 566805

How to convert USB to optical audio?
being very late to this topic I do have a couple of questions. 1. it seems when using USB to optical (toslink) those converters will always be a DAC? 2. when using the 3.5mm out on my laptop the built-in soundcard will do the DAC and some AMP? 3. when using Bluetooth are there any conversion...- 566805

Introducing HIFIMAN EF600--Desktop DAC/AMP Featuring HYMALAYA Pro Modules
Hello Lightspeed12, I just looked up the specs on the EF400 and yes are right that would be enough for IEMs and for the Headphones (I have currently). Also the formfactor is much smaller compared to the EF600; even the integrated headphone stand is a "nice to have" feature.- 566805

Introducing HIFIMAN EF600--Desktop DAC/AMP Featuring HYMALAYA Pro Modules
Hello smusa, I digged out the "default" cable and used the non balanced mode in any of my desktop amps (I will write in more details about in the Meze 109 Pro review) and with the Hifiman EF600 it does not make much difference, because even in unbalanced that puts out 1800 mW ("... Introducing HIFIMAN EF600--Desktop DAC/AMP Featuring HYMALAYA Pro Modules
I have purchased the Hifiman EF600 by ... accident? nah that is not the correct term. I bought it, but was not my initial plan. WHAT HAPPENED I went to a hifi store with a great variety of headphones and DAC / AMPs you can test right there. I wanted the Meze 109 Pro and tested them against some...- 566805

HiBy R6 III (Gen 3) Android digital audio player, Dual ES9038Q2M, Class A / AB amplification switch, Snapdragon 665, Open Android 12 OS, DSD512 / PCM768
So I did order the TempoTec V6 combo and I will return the Hiby R6 Gen3, because in comparison to the mobile phone - AkLIAM PD4 combo with the Tangzu WAN ER SG2022 and QKZ Q1 MAX cable the DAP does not sound as good by far, plus it is to clunky and heavy.- 566805

HiBy R6 III (Gen 3) Android digital audio player, Dual ES9038Q2M, Class A / AB amplification switch, Snapdragon 665, Open Android 12 OS, DSD512 / PCM768
I am really tempted to get the TempoTec V6 (with Leathercase and the Serenade X as bundle. From the optic it it very similar to the Hiby R6 Gen 3 (the volume button is on the top). Of course inside is the big difference - 2 GB RAM - 16 GB Storage - 2 AKM 4493 instead es ESS Saber - Android 8.1...- 566805
